At first, I found this email surprising, since I've driven the CR-V and have never had a problem with its headlights (but I should point out that I've traveled in areas with ample street lighting). However, a quick look at the long-term updates for our Honda uncovered this nugget from our very own Erin Riches: "These reflector-type halogen headlights are dim. And they are as good as it gets, even on this $30,825 EX-L model. HIDs, or at least projector-beam headlights, need to happen." After exchanging a few emails with this reader, I learned that she lives in a rural part of the country, and frequently travels down surface roads and highways that are bereft of street-lamp illumination.
