We came as a couple as we approach we at first thought the place was empty but on arrival it was not .. we found service was good and the food was enjoyable the surrounding looked clean although in some places it was dark .the price of the evening was average.

Summary not exceptional but good place to visit if... i went here for a funeral of a very dear friend, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food that was provided was really tasty and plenty of it Food was fantastic everyone loved what they had and we had starters main and dessert between us great atmosphere in the pub we all had a great day and night Visited here with friends and family for a birthday meal. Service is excellent here, staff are very helpful and organised, they have good a good knowledge of what is on the menu. Food was excellent, we all had different dishes, steaks, home made pies, lasagne, chicken, all were great and no complaints at all. We have visited a few times... Been just once but keen to return. Had food and drinks on a sunny Tue evening. Very friendly and down to earth service. Well worth trying if you can manage to park nearby. On holiday to Alton Towers, and this was quite high up on TripAdvisor and I can see why!
