It didn’t look quite this radical then, but Scott had a vision and told his wife it was coming home. It started out as a nice daily driver, but Scott wanted more.With only 1,400 miles on it, a 5-inch Skyjacker suspension lift was installed along with a set of 35-inch Super Swamper Thornbird tires mounted on 15×10-inch Centerline Hellcat wheels. Scott said the truck looked good, but he had this feeling it just wasn’t big enough. He thought installing a 3-inch body lift would do the trick, but, alas, it still wasn’t big enough. By this time, the truck had 8 inches of lift and 35-inch tires. that would be plenty for some guys, but it still was not big enough for Scott. To raise things even higher, he added a set of BDS coil spacers on the front prings, taller blocks on the rear springs, and then went with 39-inch Super Swamper Boggers on 15×12-inch weld Scorpio wheels.it was definitely larger, but now it looked too plain for Scott.
So he took it to Dan Zimmerman in St. Leon, Indiana, for a cool custom paint job. Ma Mopar installed a 360 Magnum engine from the factory. but in true gearhead fashion, things needed a few slight enhancements. The heads and intake were ported and polished, JBA headers were installed, and a 150hp shot of nitrous was ingested. Scott credits Randy Barton and Brian Roleson for the engine work. the power is plenty…at least for now.After all this was done, would you believe he decided the truck still wasn’t big enough for him? He called Valley Spring Works and had new springs made for the front that are 12-inches taller than the stock springs. he also added two leafs, taller aluminum blocks, and flipped the rear shackles. Now that the truck had 12 inches of suspension lift and a 3-inch body lift, there was enough room for larger 44-inch Super Swamper tires mounted on 15×14-inch Weld Scorpio wheels. But once again, Scott wasn’t happy with the stature of the Ram. So since he had the 3-inch BDS coil spacers (that he had removed earlier), he replaced them for a grand total of 18 inches of lift.
At this point, he had to have the suspension mounting points on the front Dana 44 differential rotated 13 degrees to get the driveshaft angles right.
