It did not come with a canteen. Canteen leaks at opening. No matter how tight one puts the cap, it still leaks. Cover is very nice and lining helps with the inevitable sweating. Some reviewers state they have received a canteen with the cover and others only received a canteen cover. The latter was my situation as well. I feel ripped-off, my fault, but I didn't notice that the canteen was not included, yet it's comparatively the same cost as those that do include the bladder. When purchesing this i thought that it came with the canteen with the cover. Thought canteen cover was USGI , it wasn't .
