I just bought an Omega Pro Z03 and promptly took it apart to check it out. The push button IS plastic. See picture of the interior of the back cover. The plastic flexes when the button is pushed. The radius of the bend is very large so I would expect a long life but time will tell. These seem to be a lot more like quality reels than the old Zebco... like the 33, 909, 808 or uggggh 202. If it is plastic, it is a lot stronger. I've put well over 500 casts on mine with no issues....but i'll see as time goes by. I don't think so. The Omega and Omega Pro reels do not have any plastic components and are very well built.Need help finding the right gear?
