Even after telling them my vehicle had oversized tires, They still rented me a hauler too small for me to use. I dropped off the hauler at a location in my home state since it was of no use to me. The next day, the manager calls and heels at my wife wanting to know where the trailer was. Rented a uhaul they put a $40 reserve on my credit card, then I was informed when I got there that I also had to put $100 cash deposit which nobody told me until I was there to pick it up. I told him at that point that I wanted the credit card charged the $40 and the remainder taken out of deposit, he said that was fine. When I came in the next day to settle up it was $100.65 total charges, they just kept my $100 deposit and refused to charge the card the $40. I didn't appreciate not being told about the $100 cash deposit in the first place, I already spent hundreds in moving so I was short on cash and needed it, but then refusing to split the payment like they said and just keeping all my cash was unacceptable, the credit card was from another room mate and we were all splitting the charges but because they refused to take the credit card

, that I reserved it with in the first place, I ended up paying for everything and left me with no money. It is absolutely absurd that they wouldn't put the $40 credit card toward the total and give me what was left from my cash deposit instead of keeping all my cash and refusing to take the credit card. I'm extremely aggravated in dealing with them and the person there was no help what so ever, extremely unprofessional, and I don't appreciate being lied to, I will never use uhaul again over this ordeal, not telling me about $100 cash deposit, then telling me I can get it back when I come pay then telling me I can't when I come to settle up was totally unbelievable. They just kept all the cash I had left and refused to split the payment after I was told they would. Not to mention we only drove 40 miles at .99 cent a mile, plus the $39 should have been $79 so they threw in an extra $21 in hidden charges just for an extra screw you. Extremely aggravated with the whole experience from uhaul and will certainly never use them again!

I have been dealing with U-haul on a regular basis as my family transitions to the area. The equipment is well maintained and always meets or exceeds my expectations. My only complaint is that it was busy all four times I went by this location. Perhaps they could use more help, since it's such a popular location? The truck was in great condition, the employees were friendly, but the blankets we ordered were really wet. They had been wrapped up wet and dirty, so they also smelled. Other than this, it was a good experience. I made the reservation online but I was never notified where to pick up the trailer. Areas around storage unit that I rent at this location is quite cramped. Very difficult to manuver larger vehicles and trailers within facility. in delivering the trailer to this location, I passed three Uhaul sites, closer to my home. For some reason the computer said I had to go to that one. Why drive past 3 to go there? He under stood everything he was kind and generous

Came from Florida and pick up on South Carolina unit was ready and left in minutes return 3 days later and left in minutes great service I picked up the uhaul in Surfside Beach SC. Pleased with the service. Would do business with this location again, eventhough it is out of my way. Upon completion of my move, I called the number for the Myrtle Beach, SC return location listed on the rental agreement to get directions. The gentleman I spoke with gave directions not to the location originally designated on the contract but to another U-Haul location in the general area but did not inform me of this change. When I arrived at this other U-Haul location, the U-Haul attendant had no idea of what was going on was loath to accept the truck. I informed him that I had called the number listed on the rental contract and given this address to return the truck. Then, at my insistence, I asked this attendant to contact the original location and speak with the gentleman I had spoken with earlier that morning.

The attendant did so and was told that the original location had no room in its lot for the truck and that I was to drop it off at this secondary location. The attendant at this secondary location, understandably, was somewhat upset with this event but was professional and accepted the truck and submitted the paperwork. It would have been appropriate for the original location to contact this other location and notify them of this change. Doing so would have eliminated much unnecessary frustration. We had to pay $369.00 for late fee because the worker told us not to get a storage unit. We came to the Myrtle Beach location to rent a storage unit while we waited for our apartment to be ready. We moved with a Uhaul trailer from Ohio. We weren't expecting to have to wait for our apartment to be ready so we had to stay at a hotel. When we went to pay the bill is was $369. A different worker then told us that there was a actually a free storage included for a month with any long move and that the other worker should have told us that and never charged us for late fee or insurance on it the 11 days we had to wait.

I'm extremely mad and will never use Uhaul again James Hart the general mgr. Of this location took EXCELLENT care of my needs, he made sure that I had the right equipment for my cross country move. James is very professional and courteous, when I took the auto transport home I noticed that there was a chunk of tire missing in one of the trailer tires that we didn't know about, I was leaving the next morning early and my 26' truck was loaded along with my car on the trailer, I called James and he said to not worry that he will take care of it and he will arrange to get a new tire on it thru roadside asst. 45 min later I had a brand new tire on the trailer, didn't have to unload the car and I was still on schedule to leave in the morning, that is great customer service and James should be recognized for his efforts. My total experience with uhaul was excellent, and it all started with walking thru the doors at James's location. Thanks uhaul and thanks James Hart, I will definitely use you on my next move!
