I think I may be losing water. I have a salt water hot tub and it I am not getting a Bromine reading. The heat is increasing in the tub.Make sure your levels are correct.  ALK is out of balance your sanitizers will fail to work properly.  High ALK means low acidity (Add 'Spa Down'). Low ALK is high acid levels (Add 'Spa-Buffer').  If everything is looks good on the ALK levels,your sanitizer is probably low, and needs a boost.  This is called "SHOCKING" the hot tubwater.  If the water is cloudy, more then likely it is a good idea to add more then usual amount of sanitizer, this will get your levels back to where they need to be.  Stay out of the tub until the water is clear, if the hot tub gets used during this time, the sanitizer levelswill not increase and will be eaten up by the bathers.

There are two types of foam.  1.  Cloudy water foam - Typically a result of sanitizers levels being off.  Test the water, and add the appropriate chemicals as per the test indicator, and stay out until the water is clear. 2.  Clear water - Only seen when jets get turned on.  This is very common because it is basedon phosphates.  Phosphates do not occur naturally, they are added from man made productslike detergents, hair gel, deodorants, sun tan lotion, and many other lotions.  These areessentially soap based products.  The only way to get rid of phosphates is to remove them withfiltration.  Clean your filter regularly, and add "Spa Perfect".  Spa perfect is a natural enzyme designed to break apart oils and other such products.  If the foam continues, there is an unusualamount of phosphates in the water, and you require  "Phosfree", a phosphate removal chemical. Most of the time the water has gone overboard or evaporated, this is normal, especiallyin the winter.

If everything is good,On a rare occasion, the tub is being used heavily (everyday by more then 2 people).  This can play a factor on how fast the available bromine content is being created.   It is a good idea to add some Brom-Ox after use with a high bather load.
