This week, it’s half of our pitiless Pittsburgh duo and AMG maven: Nick Rapp. How did you get here?
(Engine Shop, that is.) I was on the Mercedes-Benz account for a whole 6 months before I decided to follow the business to Engine Shop. Pittsburgh-ish, PA (No one would have heard about the real town) York College of Pennsylvania (Our football team is undefeated since 1787) Imagine, Create, Amplify – Which does your role at Engine Shop identify with most? Depending on the program, I can touch all 3 aspects, but I’d say my current forte is Create. I am trying to delve more into the “create” aspect of the company, but I am a “doer” through and through so execution is currently my strongest asset. Where do you live now? If money didn’t matter, what would you be doing? Traipsing my way through the main European destinations. I was in Italy a couple of Thanksgivings ago and still have the travel bug. Prague would be destination numero uno. Public vs. private high school? I went to public high school after attending private grade school.
I think it’s important to just be in the best situation as possible to have solid education (not just books, but life). If your folks have means to send you to a private school then more power to you, but I think my public school experience helped make me who I am today (up to you to interpret if that is a good thing or not). What are you listening to? Currently the “Hot Alternative” playlist on Spotify, but I think there may be some Wu in my near future. To be very, very cliche…anywhere you can have a couple of cold brews and hang out with friends and family. It could be someone’s basement with some beer pong, on the beach, or the local watering hole. Just throw on some good tunes and let the reminiscing and good times happen. All 3 of the Pittsburgh teams are at the top of the list, however, the Pittsburgh Penguins are my favorite. I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area so the natural inclination is to latch on to EVERYTHING they do and make it about your life.
