Cat Rescue Accord Ny

Check out our other web-site:We are a small animal shelter and dog training and behavior center located in the Mid- Hudson Valley, about 2 hours north of NYC and an hour south of Albany. We always have about 20 dogs/pups available for adoption. We do an extensive temperament evaluation procedure on each animal, to try to help match you with the most compatible and loving companion. We allow you to "date" before you "commit". In otherwords, we want the match to be wonderful and permanent, and realize that even with extensive temperament testing, we could not expect you to choose a spouse in a 20 minute visit to a shelter! The adoption fee of $250 for dogs, $85 for cats, which is fully refundable within the first 2 weeks of the trial foster period while we help you and receive feedback from you about any problems or kinks that need to be ironed out. The adoption fee will include the dog being spayed/neutered, up to date on all shots according to their age, as well as a free 4 week training coarse.

Our dogs go out fully vetted--vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Bordetella, and on heartworm prevention, spayed or neuterd.
Houseboats For Sale Washington DcAlso included in the adoption.
Nantucket Blinds Pricepacket is a free 4 week dog training course of your choice: Puppy Kindergarten, Older Puppy, or Beginners Obedience/Manners at our training center.
Blinds To Go Marlboro NjWe also offer free behavioral advice for life. We will take back any pet adopted from us, at any time, for any reason, for the lifetime of the pet, no matter what. We lose SO much money on every animal, any donations or extras you can offer is greatly appreciated. I often wonder why breeders can get so much money for their "purebreds" when I have better, more unique, more trained, more 'cool' dogs and cats available here, and yet some people balk at a higher adoption fee.

Why are purebreds seemingly more valuable? We have plenty of purebreds, too. In a perfect world, people would place more value on the work shelters do for their animals, and be willing to pay more for our wonderful animals. Mother cat moved them to the neighbor. They just discovered the mother and five kittens about a week ago. They found 3 dead kittens in the yard and attributed the deaths to their dog. They took the mother cat and got her spayed (now indoors) and tried to trap the kittens. They got one and it is now indoors. I helped them trap this last 8 week old kitten. Very thin, with bite wounds on either side of the neck. We are guessing from the dog. Left side of face very swollen from abscess and infection. Drained the wounds, gave sub q fluids and started on antibiotics. You can see the picture with the swollen face and then afterwards. But she purrs and likes to be petted. Still hisses at me. Will see how she does by tomorrow.Project CatThis is Orley, our pinniped kitty.

Project Cat shared Nebraska Humane Society's video. Most people don't know a fraction of the parasites, diseases, viruses and bacteria that can affect outdoor cats. (That is a puppy whining in the background - not the kitten). And yes, the kitten turned out to be okay.Posted by Nebraska Humane SocietyNOTE: This video may be too graphic for some- viewer discretion is advised. It’s cuterebra season here at NHS and last week we had a little dilute tortie/whit...e kitten come in with one of these perpetrators in an unusual place. Loves getting a long nap on her cat tree. She is adjusting nicely and knows in the kitchen is where the magic is made (breakfast and dinner). Project Cat shared Western Suburbs Cat & Kitten Rescue's post.Remember a few weeks ago I posted a video of a kitten stuck in the drainage hole of a dumpster? Western Suburbs Cat & Kitten Rescue added 2 new photos.Olive has gone to her new indoor only home today. Olive was a very lucky kitten rescued from a dumpster. She was jammed in the drainage hole of the dumpster for... 24 hours and was luckily not crushed after the dumpster was filled up with rubbish with workers unaware she was in there. She is all cleaned up now and recovered well from her horrific ordeal and we wish her new loving family all the very best. Project Cat added 6 new photos.Another example of why outdoor cats are bad for cats. So we got a call the other day about a severely matted cat with possible raw wounds on skin. Seems she has been outdoors for at least 2 years when her owners moved and left her.

But not before also getting a dog, whom did not get along with the cat, so the cat got booted outdoors. The cat lived in the neighborhood going from house to house for food.Nobody thought to do anything other than feed her. She would not let anybod...y too near her. So we trapped her and brought her in last night. Basically her entire body was one large mat - 2" thick along her spine. The mats were so heavy they were starting to pull away from the skin and peeling off. She was obviously in pain from this. So I sedated her and went to work shaving her. The mats on her back end were caked with old dry fecal matter. So think of all those poor TNR cats to whom this happens. Only they don't get relief and have to live with the pain and skin sores until they eventually die. If those mats peel off during the winter - then no insulation. No protection from heat during the summer either. Out of sight where nobody sees them and nobody has to think about them. Project CatMairyJane wanted to show you her spay tattoo but you can't really see it 'cuz the fur is growing back in.

She came to us after a frigid winter in 2015 with frost bitten ears and toes, and many open wounds and injuries on her back end including her tail. Her tail and ears fell off before actually coming into the shelter but we had to have 3 toes removed. She went to live with Gilda, who was adopted from us in December. We are sure these 2 are going to be good friends. As usual there is no end to the phone calls to assist with innumerable cats breeding anywhere and everywhere. It often, but not always, involves an elderly person who has been feeding cats for years and the family doesn't intervene. A few months ago we had to remove several outdoor and indoor cats that were both feral and quite sickly after... the woman moved into a nursing home. These cats were in such horrible shape, but after we thought we removed them all a family member called to tell us they found a cat living in the inside wall of the house that they were unaware of.
