We have blue eyes babies too! Our miniature piglets weigh as little as 9 ounces when born, and we differentiate the smallest piglets as micro minis or teacups. All babies grow up and to clarify, a mini or teacup pig will not stay small like a teacup or mini dog breed. Our pigs receive excellent care. We don't under feed or breed babies to limit size.   Selective breeding, quality care and genetics will determine confornmation and size, not starvation.  We provide truthful and accurate information regarding the age, height, weight and lineage of our pigs. We do not place pigs without being properly weaned, handled, and socialized.   As reputable breeders PeeWee Piglet assumes responsibility for the lifetime of the pig.  If an owner is unable to keep their pet, the pig can be returned with no questions asked. Micro Mini and Teacups Piglets Are Real Some say that teacups or micro mini pigs don't exist.  They claim all the "so called micro mini teacup" pigs are really newborn farm hogs or straved pot bellied pigs being sold under false pretenses. This is not true, and PeeWee Piglets pasture of mature healthy adults proves different. These small pigs are a different breed of pig than the pot bellied pig and will be much smaller.  

In the 1960's the Gottigen Mini Pig was developed for medical research as a smaller pig would be easier for researchers to handle.  Breeders also began to selectively breed for smaller size, and new breeds such as the Juliana Pig, American Mini Pig and the Miniature Pot Bellied Pig emerged. These small pigs were dubbed teacup pigs and breeders started describing the SIZES (not breeds) of their smallest piglets with cute sounding names like nano, pocket, pixie, peewee, micro, mini, etc.  There are no set standards for these terms and can vary among breeders. UYR rescued George from Dallas,TX and flew him all the way to Tampa, FL so he could get the specialized medical care he desperately needed. Almost immediately after he arrived in Florida, George met Colleen and her yorkie Hayley and it was love at first sight (for all of them). A few weeks later Colleen adopted George and the rest was history, as they say. Sadly, on July 8, Colleen's life was tragically cut short in an accident during a vacation at the Grand Canyon. Colleen was a wonderful, caring, energetic person with a big heart. Her passing was a huge loss to the rescue community and she will always be missed by UYR. As of April 2016, UYR currently has 10 Yorkies in the Forever Ours Program. These 10 pups will remain with UYR for the rest of their lives. They receive vetting care as needed and this care is provided by UYR and your donations. Total cost of vetting to date for our 10 Forever Ours Yorkies is: $30,079!! Donations for our Forever Ours pups is $16,240 which leaves us with a shortfall on these pups of $13,840. We are happy to say that more than half of these costs have been covered by donations for the special little ones. Donations for each one are still needed to have money available for their continuing care needs.
