HOWEVER I have mobility issues and could not get onto beach. But was ale to use picnic facilities at quiet corner of carpark and enjoyed my 3 hours of sunshine there. Excellent restaurant nearby for dinner Brittas bay beach ,what a fantastic view ,this is a must see its simply picturesque . there is a car park with a charge of €4 for the day witch is handy if you have young children as it is a short stroll onto the beach from the carpark. My favourite beach by a long shot. Lovely sandy beach, very safe for younger children. Water is shallow, you need to go out quite a bit before it gets deeper. Care should be taken though as water can come in around you when on a sand bank.

Always clean, beautiful scenery. Only drawbacks are on busy sunny days. If you already know Irelands coast line with all its cliffs and rocky beaches you will really be supprised to find such a beautiful beach behind the dunes. When I finally got the chance to go, the weather was beautiful. Clear blue sky, 22 C/72F in the shade. The sand is very fine, with a few larger pebbles and large seas sheels in it. You can easily walk barefoot in it. This is a great beach for family and friends and lots of parking too but can get very busy during the summer months with tourists Its a lovely lovely beach and yet people with up to four five dogs left off the lead and pooing and peeing all around the place , cannot place a step forward without looking , very disappointing .... easy access,safe clean,healthy, deal for picnic family days out and is suitable for all entrnce fee of €4 great value I'll start by admitting that the weather wasn't great on the day I visited. I'll also admit that having arrived on a motorbike in the rain, I was ready for a bit of something that lifted my spirits.
