Our participation in Adopt-A-Pet began in 1998, and since then, Petland stores have helped hundreds of thousands of animals find homes. Here at Petland Strongsville, we work closely with people in the community who can no longer take care of their pets. We can assist you in finding homes for your unplanned litters of kittens and small animals. Contact us when they are 4 to 6 weeks of age. We can accept healthy pets at 8 weeks of age as well, provided space is available. By giving them a temporary home in our highly visible display habitats, we ensure these sweet dogs, cats, and other small animals are not without a permanent home for long. Adding a pet to your family is a big decision, and initial care is a big factor in ensuring your pet has a long and healthy life.
If you are concerned about the price of vaccinations, Adopt-A-Pet may be the perfect route for you. Most of the animals up for adoption have received their vaccines, been spayed or neutered, and come with a wellness checkup allowance provided by a local veterinarian. But if one or all of these procedures are not taken care of for your new pet, don't let that be a deterrent! We offer significant discounts for the vaccination and neutering process. We believe animals deserve a loving home and we do all we can to ensure they are all matched with the perfect family! At Petland, whether you're a cat or dog person, you can find kittens and puppies for sale or adoption. Strongsville customers interested in pet adoption are in good hands with the help of our caring Pet Counselors, easy access to micro-chipping, and pet care. Foster Dog’s Veterinary Care The organization primarily rescues animals from kill shelters in Ohio and surrounding states. Due to the high volume of urgent or “death row” dogs, the organization does not accept owner surrenders. Each animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative and de-wormed prior to adoption. All animals are on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Outside normal veterinary care, the organization also provides any additional veterinary care due to sickness or injury. The organization treats heartworm positive dogs and provides surgeries when necessary. We have relationships with Veterinary practices around Columbus including: Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills, Health & Harmony, OSU Veterinary Hospital in Dublin, MedVet, East Hilliard Veterinary Services, Rascal Animal Hospital and VCA Animal Hospital. We rely heavily on the generous donations of the public to help fund these efforts. To make a donation, click here
