Corgis are truly special family members, and we hope that they are never separated from us.  Occasionally, though, a corgi becomes lost – bolting through an opened door, escaping from a car following an accident, or fleeing in fear during a thunderstorm or fireworks – in spite of our precautions.  Sometimes these corgis are found by caring people who contact Sunshine Corgi Rescue. If you have lost or found a Pembroke or Cardigan Welsh corgi, please contact one of our board members listed on the Board of Directors page.  We will do our best to help reunite corgis with their families. Make new friends, but keep the old; Those are silver, these are gold. For the last several years, many families have suffered from job losses and home foreclosures, and, sadly, their corgis have also been affected.  Changes in financial circumstances have forced some families to surrender their dogs who have lived with them for many years. 

Other corgis have found themselves homeless when their owners have passed away or moved to nursing facilities.  Many of these dogs are seniors who  have never known another home. Our dedicated staff of volunteers is a group of long time corgi lovers who open their hearts and homes to corgis. Our volunteers include people with many years of experience in the corgi breed. Among our members, we have people who belong to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America and Sunshine Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club in Florida. We have exhibitors, breeders, those that have trained and shown in obedience, agility, herding and have certified therapy dogs. Sunshine Corgi Rescue is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose purpose is for the prevention of cruelty to animals. Specifically, this Corporation is organized to: -Assist Pembroke Welsh Corgis who are surrendered by their current owners, found as strays or discovered in animal shelters and to provide proper, permanent homes for unwanted Pembroke Welsh Corgis by providing quality shelter and care for them until we are able to place them in their new home. -Promote and advance public education concerning Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
