For those who do know Louvain-la-Neuve with its university and campus, the building fits at the same time fully into the local style and architecture and still is different: - quiet place, yet close to the campus (walking distance max 20 min to reach all relevant places) - nice setting near to the woods - typical Ibis Styles look and... This appears to be a newly refurbished Ibis Styles hotel and therefore did not check if it had air conditioning as most have. However this one did not and surprised us. It was a hot humid night and although they provided fans it did not help and we hardly slept. I gave the hotel website over a week to respond... We have noted your remark... I am a loyal Accor Hotel user and I have stayed at this property before but will probably not use this hotel again. For an Ibis Styles (think it used to be a Mercure) it is a bit over priced. I like the Ibis Style concept but this one just seem to have a complacent staff. Here is what you... “On the edge of everything” This hotel has good and bad aspects but you don't have any choice since I was told there are no other hotels in or near town. Pretty bizarre for a university town. I was also told that it started life as an IBM computer research center, which might explain the odd architecture. Good points: rooms are clean, modern, and a... It's hard to believe that a university town such as LLN has only had one hotel for a decade. Fortunately, the hotel is fine, located in a beautiful site, at the edge of a forest and walking distance from "downtown". Wifi is free, rooms are small but ok, and breakfast is good. The holel is tidy and the rooms are quite standard with a touch of flashy-young-dynamic colors which is quite agreeable.

I found the insonorisation (from corridor and adjascent rooms) could be improved but I have a slight sleep so I am not a reference in that matter. The breakfast room is very nice and there is plenty of choice :... The welcome was mediocre, not really any small talk or smiles :-( We were travelling with my elderly mother and the ramp towards the lift was good and promised good access. Unfortunately this did not continue throughout the hotel. The breakfast room was located downstairs and we had to organise with staff the service lift down and come in and... The hotel is really nice, located near the forest, about 10 minutes walk to the university square. Neat rooms with spacious bathroom. Would've liked shampoo to be available in the bathrooms. They have great breakfast in the morning! I have just returned from a business trip in Louvain La Neuve and must admit to some trepidation after reading some of the reviews! Like other reviewers I would not have chosen to stay there, but the choice is limited in that area and for a 3-star hotel I have to say this is pretty good.
