Deep House T Shirt Hugh Laurie

A much-lauded Flushing educator, who was favorably compared to Hugh Laurie's character from House, allegedly impregnated a depressed teen during a long affair, and also sent masturbation videos to other students, according to a disturbing report today. The Post reports that 40-year-old married father-of-two Ian Millman began an affair with a sophomore at World Journalism Preparatory School in Flushing, Queens around 2010. According to a report by Special Commissioner of Investigation Richard Condon, Millman exchanged 132,000 text messages and calls with the female student, had sex with her for several years, got her pregnant and paid for her abortion. Millman's official title at the Flushing school was Academic Intervention Specialist, which essentially made him a dean of discipline; he was assigned to help students who were skipping class or had personal or academic issues. According to Condon's report, he was asked to help this female student because "she was depressed and not talking to anyone."

They kissed after a fall parent-teacher conference, then around Christmas, "Millman drove her to Jones Beach on Long Island, where they had sex in the back seat of his car" for the first time. The reports states that the two had sex almost daily, including "at school, at his friend’s home, in a motel and at his parents’ house;" when she got pregnant, "he drove her to a Planned Parenthood clinic in Queens, waited outside while she had the abortion and then drove her home." He also allegedly "constantly promised [the student] that he was going to divorce his wife and marry her." Condon's office apparently got wind of the relationship by October 2013 when they discovered more than 100,000 "phone contacts" between the two over the two-and-a-half year period. The student and her mother denied there was anything inappropriate about the relationship at the time, and Millman "paid a $1,000 fine to the Department of Education to settle the matter." Then Millman was sent to a rubber room while he was being investigated a year later for an alleged affair with a different student;

he allegedly filmed himself masturbating and sent the video to at least one of the girls he was allegedly having a sexual relationship with. Then in 2015, a third investigation started when the mother of the first girl reported that her daughter had lied about the two-and-a-half year affair.

He was honored by The Children’s Dream Foundation in 2013 for his work there. In a very gushing 2010 profile of him in a Columbia Journalism School publication that pops up with red flags upon reflection, Millman is lauded for his ability to connect with students while also giving them tough love. "There isn’t a student in this school that won’t spill their guts to him," Principal Cynthia Schneider told them. "He develops relationships but is a knuckle breaker. The kids don’t know what to do." “He sees things as gray, not necessarily black and white,” added administrative assistant Kathy Vitale. “He understands students for what they are capable of.” Vice Principal Nancy Poulos was the one who compared him to Hugh Laurie's famous TV persona: "He’s kinda like House," she said. "He can drive you crazy but he always gets the job done and knows how to diagnose the situation." In another positive article from 2011 about him stepping down as baseball coach at Francis Lewis HS to "spend more time with his family," the Daily News described Millman as "a savvy motivator who has a saying for seemingly every situation."
