The tire store chain is buying a 53,000-square-foot piece of the site from the landowner, family partnership Pfaff Woodbury LLC. Discount Tire is seeking approval from the city of Woodbury for the project.

The first phase of the development, which is near the SuperTarget on Woodbury Drive, is fully open and fully leased. The 15-acre development is anchored by Wings Financial Credit Union and a HealthEast medical clinic. Also open are Noodles & Company, Little Chopsticks, Starbucks, Yogurt Lab, Which Wich, Pacific Dental Services and Sylvan Learning Center. RELATED: Two big dental chains expanding into Twin Cities market HJ Development Inc. of Wayzata is still looking for one or two tenants on the north side of the site, which totals 3.2 acres. It's slated for one 10,000-square-foot retailer and a 5,700-square-foot restaurant, but it could be combined for one larger tenant, said Chris Moe, a partner at HJ Development. "The interest is good," Moe said. "There is a lot going on in Woodbury right now. We were able to lease up our first phase before we opened. We are being selective. It's the prime piece of real estate in the development, so we are being picky."
