A specialist hazardous chemicals collection contractor is organised through REROC to undertake a collection in the Eastern Riverina every two years. The collection is referred to as the Household Hazardous Chemical Collection, and is widely advertised within a few weeks of the event. Paint tins may only be disposed of through the kerbside collection or at the waste management facilities only if they contain dried paint. Also, some pharmacies may have a collection point for unwanted medicines.Though small quantities of tyres are accepted at Gregadoo Waste Management Centre, they cannot be disposed to landfill. Tyres are collected and then taken away by a contractor to be recycled. Disposal charges can be found on the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre section (under Infrastructure Services - Solid Waste) in the current Revenue & Pricing Policy.

Service charges for kerbside waste collection can be accessed on our fees and charges page.Gregadoo Waste Management Centre is open seven days a week, 7.30am to 4.30pm. GWMC is not open on selected public holidays, with additional closures possible during the Christmas and New Year period. Please refer to Councils closure advertisements for further information. Customers are encouraged to arrive at GWMC well before the closing time, as the gate is locked at 4.30pm.If you are in the process of upgrading your computer or television don't just throw your old machine away! These items are accepted free of charge at GWMC, and taken off site for recycling. Mobile phones can be dropped off at the Community Recycling Station in the Civic Centre building arcade (to the left of the entrance of the art gallery).Car batteries can be taken to the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. There is a collection point for lead acid/single use/household batteries within the metal recycling area. Single use/household batteries can also be dropped off at the Community Recycling Station in the Civic Centre building arcade (to the left of the entrance of the art gallery).

These items are collected and taken away by a contractor for recycling.Household globes including CFLs (compact fluorescent), halogens and LED (light emitting diode) bulbs can be recycled through the Community Recycling Station.All brands of printer cartridges are accepted at the Community Recycling Station.Collected green waste is mulched and used for cover material within the cell. Private commercial composting operations are also being encouraged to ensure that maximum material utilisation occurs.Materials accepted for free at GWMC are clean fill, polystyrene, e-waste, oil up to 20L, car and motorcycle batteries and cardboard.Large garden waste materials may be collected by a local composting or landscaping business through private arrangements, or taken to Gregadoo Waste Management Centre for a fee.The only mixed waste disposal facility located in the Wagga Wagga local government area is at Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC). GWMC is located at 132 Ashfords Road, about a 15 minute drive south-east of the Wagga Wagga CBD.
