With street and race engines, this can also mean we are in the age of Electronic Fuel Injection, EFI for short. For the most part, these are racing manifold systems, based on the Edelbrock Victor Jr., and Super Victor intake manifolds, designed and priced for the Sportsman Racers, or for the enthusiasts that wants more power and reliability for his ski boat. Again, this is as close to a “soup to nuts” intake combination as we can get, without knowing everything there is to know about the customer’s specific engine and what he intends to do with it. Things like the selection of an Engine Management System (computer), wire harness, fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, etc., are best left to the engine builder or the customer to determine, and are not offered by Accufab.A few notes regarding the ACCUFAB 4-brl. Throttle Bodies:The ACCUFAB 4-brl. 4150 flows more air (1,215 cfm) than the typical 4500 style carburetor (typically 1,050-1,150 cfm). The only thing it has in common with a 4150 style carburetor is the bolt pattern. In effect, it’s a “wolf in sheeps clothing”. This makes the throttle body an excellent choice for many high performance engine combinations. The height of the throttle body, including the 1-inch spacer, is 3-inches, bottom to top (the throttle linkage arm is higher than the top of the throttle body, an air cleaner spacer ring may be required if you plan on using an air filter).
4500 flows 2,128 cfm, about double that of most 4500 style carburetors. So, you get the air flow of dual 4500 carburetors in a single ACCUFAB 4500 throttle body. The height of the throttle body, including the 1-inch spacer, is 3-inch, bottom to top. Same issue with the throttle linkage arm as on the 4150 if you plan on using an airfilter.Both the ACCUFAB 4150 and the 4500 include a GM TPS and IAC. They throttle bodies are anodized black. If a customer wishes to have a polished throttle body, add $20.00 per throttle body.6500 flows 2,656 cfm. Although it has the same bolt pattern as the 4500, the blades are larger in diameter and will not fit on most 4500 style intake manifolds without grinding or chamfering the inside of the plenum on the intake manifold.8500 flows 3,584 cfm. It has a unique bolt pattern and will NOT bolt to a 4500 intake manifold. Both the 6500 and the 8500 are 3-inches tall, bottom to top, and are polished.Some information about the extruded fuel rails. The ends are threaded for specific size fittings (not included in the kit).
The ACC-9135, ACC-8385, ACC-9365 fuel rails are set up for 3/8-inch NPT fittings, and accommodate all standard injectors. The ACC-9165, ACC-9045, ACC-9025, ACC-9245, ACC-9285, ACC-9785 fuel rails are set up for -6AN fittings, and accommodate all standard injectors. The ACC-8455, ACC-8095, ACC-9085, ACC-8265, ACC-0855 fuel rails are set up for -8AN fittings and accommodate all standard injectors. The ACC-8215 fuel rails are set up for -8AN fittings and accommodate Bosch style injectors.ACCUFAB throttle bodies are designed for naturally aspirated or nitrous applications, and are not particularly effective in a “blow through” environment such as with a centrifugal supercharger or turbocharged application. For “blow through” applications, ACCUFAB recommends that a 90-degree elbow be used on the intake manifold, with either a 90mm or a 105mm single-hole throttle body. The round opening makes it much easier and more efficient to plumb from a supercharger or turbocharger, or from the intercooler.
