Live music and amplified music is accepted Music slowed down/switched off 11pm Please Note: Secret Garden is an intimate setting for your function, as such it would be inappropriate to turn the volume beyond excessive decibel ranges. We respect your function is a celebration and good music may be a part of your plans. The band/dj location and speaker positions and decibel range is to be strictly adhered to certain rules and final determination on the extent and level of noise resides with the Secret Garden Management and must be enforced by the Co-ordinator. Guests staying in the Artist House can relocate there after the venue closes, however please respect our neighbours by keeping the volume reasonable, ensure the music stays inside and that it is turned off by midnight.

Byron Bay Weddings will provide you with a list of pre approved musicians. PA equipment to be used, A pa system is supplied for all weddings & all musicians are to plug through this. The PA system is (2 x 1000w Powered 15'” PA speakers and stands with mixer & Microphone) & is an additional $250.00 You may bring up to six vehicles onto the property driveway zone (wedding party/parents etc). Being conveniently located in the heart of town, most accommodation is within walking distance to the Secret Garden. Alternatively, there is adequate street parking available along Jonson Street and Kingsley Street on weekends. Secret Garden is currently a BYO premises and hosts can bring their own alcohol for the events. You and your caterer are responsible for the service of beverages to your guests. All service staff must have (RSA) to serve guests alcohol. For all wedding functions held at the Secret Garden, there is a requirement to book either the adjoining Artist House or our Beachfront Residence known as Birdland for a minimum of 2 nights.

The property formerly owned by well-known Australian artist David Bromley has loads of character, style and charm. The original house has been transformed into work of art with hand-painted walls, coloured glass doors as well as modern finishings. Artist house compound includes everything on the property: artist studio, boat shed, 3-bedroom artist house, a vintage airstream caravan, Swedish hot tub, wood-fired pizza oven, veggie garden and stunning tropical gardens.

Birdland is a laid back luxury retreat offering 6 bedrooms spread over 2 levels and has 3 ensuite/bathrooms, contemporary furnishings, light filled interiors and unpretentious simplicity. Curfew Note: Secret Garden is located in a commercial zone and as such has greater tolerance to noise than residential or rural zonings. Even so, we like and respect our greater neighbourhood and as such we require you to do the same. A strict noise curfew of 10.00 pm applies to any LIVE music. If you plan to have other music provided by a DJ, please plan your timings appropriately to ensure that music activity has ceased by 11.00 pm. All guests not accommodated in the Artist House to depart offsite no later than 11.30 pm. This gives all guests an opportunity to relocate to another Byron Bay entertainment venue within walking distance before the 12:00 lock-out.
