We like to learn new things from each other and recognized experts while including trips to new places or meetings for ‘cocooning’ with our stitchery rounds out our programs. With all our explorations and learning of new things another constant for the Potpourri Club is the assistance we provide to various organizations throughout the city to enhance the beauty of open spaces in Rockford. The Potpourri Garden Club enjoyed another year of travel. In Wisconsin we toured the Mitchell Conservatory and Domes, the Flower Factory in Janesville, the Grandview Mosaic Garden outside of New Glarus and the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville.

Each visit provides inspiration and ideas to bring home and implement in our own gardens or homes. We had our annual plant sale at Mary Ann Miller’s where we raised funds for one of the many gardens in our community. Our Pride of Oregon boat trip (meeting at Maxson Manor) on the Rock River was cancelled due to rain, but we will try again this Fall. Our group could write a column about the great new restaurants visited on our trips. We will enjoy more travel this coming year, and of course, each other's company.
