Since we took such a hit on our previous house -- we're looking for an area that will hopefully "hold" it's value -- so this is probably where the opinions of realtors were coming from.
All of the developments are (for the most part) desirable. We've been told Ashborough East is suppose to be a little higher end than Ashborough - again not my words. We were told River Birch is questionable and we may want to think twice. Now there is a developer in there (Jamie Carter - I think) that is building these big ranches with a Frog, seemed very quality built - a heck of a house, but it was so big it took up the entire lot. We would have bought it, but again it was so big we would not have had a yard, if we wanted to put in a pool. He's now planning on building a few more of these ranches in River Birch. Walnut Farms - we love - always have. We've been told the houses have held their value, and it truly feels like home to us. We've heard that the HOA had made some public complaints that have tainted peoples opinion about the sub -- but it's silly things. A few houses this summer (before we were ready to buy) dropped their prices lower, and sure enough they were snatched up quick.
Pine Forest - again - we've heard great things, and we like it there too. Direct Buy Tire Alameda CaWe're not golfers or country club type - so for us there isn't the attraction to that type of community, but it's not off the list either.Nobu Outdoor Furniture It sound like you're looking for similar, a bigger lot, brick homes? Al'S Wholesale BlindsI personally think you'd be happy in any of those developments - they all seem like nice developments. Most of those developments do not have a community pool - I don't know if that's an issue for you -- I thought you had children? The summers are very hot, and I know a lot of families want the community pool for their children - just a thought? GL - let me know if I can be of any further help - though I haven't lived here long - I've been looking at real estate in Summerville since last November, spend countless hours driving through developments...
Good luck - I'm sure you're getting excited. 890 posts, read 3,471,476 times Originally Posted by scjj Again - these were NOT my words, but that of realtors we've talked to - I thought I made that VERY clear!
