He had a traditional Irish funeral with his friends carrying his coffin past his home and up main street in Lahinch and into the church and after mass the next day his friends carried him down main street again towards his grave that he shares with his mother and father and his sister. His mass was plain, no big flowers or gestures, no readings from the public or gifts offered, I noticed this and as if he was reading my mind the lovely priest told us that this was Toms wish.
