A visit takes you back to 1774 when the fort was used as a refuge from raiding Native Americans. You'll get a glimpse of 18th century lifestyle demonstrated via period costumes and colonial crafts. The gun shop is the only place in the state where you can see how the firearms of the time were manufactured. The scenic park around the fort is a great place for picnics, hiking, biking and boating. Concerts are held in the amphitheater during the summer months. The park is a short drive from nearby Fairmont. Valley Falls State ParkRt. This park near Fairmont and Grafton offers the same activities as the Pricket Fort State Park, but with the addition of kayaking and mountain biking.
