Snip the edges of the rings with hog ring pliers, or squeeze the pliers around each ring and apply enough pressure that the rings snap off. Turn the seat over until it sits flat on the ground. Use your knife or scissors to cut off any remaining fabric on the seat. Apply a thin and even coating of silicone spray to the foam padding on top of your seat. Add a second coat of the spray to the seat cover. Place the seat cover on top of the seat. Run your hands down and over the seat to remove any air bubbles and ensure that the cover is smooth. Work your way around the seat, adding more spray and rubbing your hands over the cover until you completely cover the seat with the new piece.

Turn the seat back over to see the bottom. Give the bottom side of the seat a thin coating of silicone spray. Pull on the edges of the cover and wrap the edges underneath the seat. Keep working your way around the bottom until you glue each side to the seat. Slip a hog ring around the base of the metal. Squeeze with the pliers until you snap the ring shut. Add six or more hog rings to the base, using a new ring in each spot where you removed one earlier. Place one of the channel strips across the bottom of the seat, following the metal channels that you see. Apply a small amount of the silicone spray to the fabric and wrap it around the metal. Repeat for each channel. Repeat these steps for each of the seats needing a new cover before reinstalling in your vehicle. A steamer helps you get a smooth and even look faster. Turn the steamer on low, aim directly at the seat after applying the spray, and move the steamer back and forth as you pull down slightly on the cover.

Take off the seat belts and headrest before you begin covering the seats. This helps you get closer to the seats without anything getting in your way. Consider asking someone for help when installing the new covers. You might find that it's easier when one person holds the top of the cover and the second person pulls and rubs on the cover.
