Sam's BBQ is a barbeque joint.   We specialize in pleasing our customers.  We aren't always sucessful, but we try real hard.  We have slow smoked brisket, delectable ribs, the best chicken in the state, dyamite sausage, bodacious turkey legs, and all home-made sides.  Those sides are potato salad (the best), beans (just so-so), cole slaw, and brocolli salad (better than the best).  One of our best sellers is chicken salad - can't keep it - made fresh daily (everything is).  You have never tasted chicken salad this good.  Crowning item of the pit is our chopped beef - absolutely no fat.  Smoked on the pit for 8 or more hours - then slow cooked in a roaster oven - and then and only then the meat is carefully worked to remove all fat - then hand-chopped and mixed with our great sauce and placed on sandwich headed your way!  Of course, we have crystal clear - home brewed tea everyday.  During the holidays, we smoke turkeys, hams, and pork loins.  And yes, we will do cornbread dressing, too

Back in 1999, my mother called me asking what kind of lunch my husband would like that day.  I told to stop at the little bbq stand on FM 624 and pick-up a brisket sandwich.  Couple hours later, she called telling me the stand was for sale.  The rest is history - well at least mildly interesting.  Yes, we bought it.  No, we did not know anything about BBQ - only that we liked it.  We bought on a Sunday afternoon and opened the following Friday.  Talk about trail by fire - literally.  We have been at it for ten years.  We have learned alot about BBQ, about people, about our great customers.  We started with one employee on the payroll.  We now have seven.  We have more quadrupled our business, started catering, branched out to providing tree trimming services to many of our customers.  Up to two years ago, I had a full time job.   In the beginning, my mother was very active and instrumental in the day to day operations.  She just turned 90.  She is still active - just not at the BBQ.
