Snowy Region Visitor Centre Snowy Region Visitor Centre, in Jindabyne, is a great place for visitors to get information, brochures, maps and park entry passes before heading into Kosciuszko National Park. The Snowy Region Visitor Centre is: 8.30am-4.30pm daily in summer 8.30am-5pm daily in winter (June long weekend to October long weekend) The visitor centre is located outside the park. Park entry fees apply on Alpine Way and Kosciuszko Road.If you're planning a long hike or visiting a remote part of Kosciuszko National Park, ask the visitor centre staff about completing the free online trip intention form. The Snowy Region Visitor Centre is a welcome stop on the drive from Canberra before entering Kosciuszko National Park.Staff can help with accommodation in or around the park, advice on the best things to see and do while you’re in the Snowy Mountains, and the latest conditions or closures. Iconic species - Southern corroboree frog conservation program An iconic endangered species, the southern corroboree frog, found only in Kosciuszko National Park, faces the grave threat of extinction. Saving Our Species aims to prevent this from happening by battling chytrid fungus, protecting frog habitat from pests, and fostering a captive breeding program.

The Thredbo Bobsled is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. With 700m of luge style track the bobsled twists and turns its way down the mountain whilst you control the speed with a brake on your cart. It's great fun for all the family. Winding along the Thredbo River and around the base of mountain this course is a pleasure to play. It is dotted with wildflowers, lined with eucalyptus and it has a little bit of everything providing even seasoned golfers with unique challenges. The course is home to 1 x Par 5 hole, 4 x Par 4 holes, 4 x Par 3 holes with each hold offering a different spectacular view of Thredbo Valley and its surrounding Alpine peaks.

Murray 1 Visitors Centre – Alpine WayMurray 1 Power Station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme. There are 10 turbines at Murray 1, each capable of producing enough electricity to supply over 95,000 houses.Next to the power station is the Murray 1 Visitors Centre. The Murray 1 Visitors Centre is located only 15 minutes from Khancoban on the Alpine Way. There is designated public visitor parking. Visitors are requested to follow visitor signage and parking instructions at the power station.The Alpine Way is steep and winding in places and motorists are advised to take care and drive to the weather and road conditions, while making your way along one of the most spectacular drives in Australia.If travelling from Cooma, Jindabyne or Thredbo, please allow sufficient time for your journey, especially during winter.Also located only a couple of minutes from the centre of Khancoban are the Khancoban Dam release gates where the water from the Scheme is released into the Swampy Plains River and then into the Murray River for irrigation. There are also a number of displays and models on the Snowy Mountains Scheme.This visitor display will be open 7 days a week between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm. For those visitors wishing to experience the Scheme first hand, Murray 1 Power Station Public Inspections are available. Murray 1 Power Station is located on the Alpine Way, 10 kilometres east of Khancoban. Power Station Inspections will occur at 11:00am and 2:00pm, and take approximately 20 minutes.
