Find and compare Frankfort Apartments for rent. on February 19, 2016 at 7:30 AM, updated ANN ARBOR, MI -- Another day, another deluge of desserts. All I can say is that I'm doing my best, folks. Since last Friday I have been on the road looking for Michigan's Best Dessert. And so far I have visited 15 restaurants. Yesterday was the biggest day yet. I started in Jackson at Steve's Ranch, where owner/baker Fay Odeh was the star of the show. Not only does she have an inspirational story of raising a large family and building a business, she knows desserts and wowed us with her famous 8-layer cakes! RELATED: Michigan's Best Dessert: 8-layer cakes, inspiring stories highlight stop at Steve's Ranch The day just kept getting better as I stopped at Sidetrack Bar and Grill in Ypsilanti, and then The Chop House and Grange Kitchen and Bar in Ann Arbor. At Sidetrack I met a familiar face, Jessica French, who runs the popular bar and grill with her mother (and owner) Linda French.

I had the pleasure of meeting them on our search for Michigan's Best Burger in 2013. Tire Chains For Awd(Unfortunately, mom was out of town, so we didn't get a chance to see her.)Yorkie Poo Puppies New Jersey Sidetrack is known for its great food/burgers, craft beer, a Sunday Bloody Mary bar and "sharable"  desserts, of course.Husky Puppies For Sale Near Milwaukee Typically the strawberry sundae comes on the menu during the late spring and early summer when strawberries are fresh, but they were kind enough to make it for us. At least they were able to locally source the popular homemade biscuit from Terry's Bakery in Ypsilanti. Once again it was a great stop. Check out the restaurant for yourself. After visiting Sidetrack, I drove into Ann Arbor to visit The Chop House, and then nearby Grange Kitchen and Bar.

It seems like I was just at The Chop House, which finished in the Top 10 as Michigan's Best Steakhouse. I remember the dessert bar La Dolce Vita, which is connected to The Chop House and gives diners a full, fine-dining experience. Pasty Chef Jordan Conn leads a team of four employees who are dedicated to desserts! That alone is impressive. She took us through a few desserts that have become staples. A few steps away from The Chop House is Grange Kitchen and Bar, where we met owner Brandon Johns, only briefly. His rock star is pastry chef Melissa Richards, who takes to heart the restaurant's farm-to-table concept and really explores flavor combinations with her own creativity. She is a big supporter of the local farmer's market and even sets up her own ice cream cart (Sweet Dirt) where she is known for her unique flavored sorbets. Just to give us a little balance, she even brought out some nachos and the Grange version of the "Big Mac," which are part of their "Fast Food, Slow Style" menu theme for February.

Today is the last day of the search. Here is my itinerary: 8:30 a.m. Grampa Tony's-Bay City 10:00 a.m. Bavarian Inn-Frankenmuth 2:00 p.m. Clifford Lake Inn-Stanton The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, known for its Grand Pecan Ball is also a contender.
