How To Change Headlight Bulb 2010 Cadillac Cts

Government Considers Investigating G.M. Crossovers for Headlight Failures The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is considering whether to investigate hundreds of complaints about low-beam headlight failures on almost 250,000 Saturn Outlooks and GMC Acadias from the 2007-9 model years. According to a bulletin from General Motors, the problem, which only affects vehicles with halogen headlights, may also exist in about 93,000 more vehicles, including models from 2010 as well as the 2008-10 Cadillac CTS and 2010 Cadillac SRX. The agency is responding to a defect petition filed by Peter J. Gonzalez of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. Mr. Gonzalez complained about a headlight failure on his 2008 Outlook and noted there were many other complaints filed on the safety agency’s Web site. Under federal regulations, the agency must consider the merits of each defect petition received and determine whether a Preliminary Evaluation is warranted. If an evaluation finds reason for concern, the agency would upgrade the investigation to an Engineering Analysis, which frequently leads to a recall.

In a recent posting on its Web site (PDF), N.H.T.S.A said it began evaluating Mr. Gonzalez’ request and found 415 complaints from Outlook and Acadia owners who experienced headlight failures. The agency also posted a technical service bulletin (PDF) from last December in which G.M. told dealers that four models with halogen headlights could lose their low beams because the electrical connectors were faulty. G.M. recommended replacing the connectors. The bulletin identified the potentially affected models as the 2008-10 Cadillac CTS, 2010 Cadillac SRX and 2007-10 GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook. G.M. sent owners a letter about the problem in December, notifying them that repairs would be free until Dec. 31, 2013. Owners who already paid for the repair would be reimbursed, the automaker said. Ryndee Carney, a spokeswoman for G.M., wrote in an e-mail on Friday that the automaker had repaired 245,000, or 71 percent, of the 343,000 vehicles covered by that technical service bulletin.

G.M. calls its action a Customer Satisfaction Program. If it were a recall, the automaker would have to report repair rates back to the agency. I own this car - My approximate mileage is 3,000 Pros: "If don't mind Auto Start and run-flats, great car" Cons: "Auto stop/start, run-flats (and no spare)" Likely to recommend this car? "The Auto Stop/Start is terrible. It may not bother everyone (I cannot fathom how people above don’t mind this), but it is annoying and distracting every time you stop the car. The car shakes and jiggles at every stop sign and stop light. My passengers are incredulous when they’re first taken for a spin. It is not only annoying, but also distracting; your mind goes to it every single time you stop. You can turn this off every time you start the car, but it is not possible to turn this feature off permanently. Make sure you thoroughly test drive them before buying. When test driving, make sure you do some city/urban driving and turn the A/C off (it doesn’t kick in when the A/C is chugging at a decent rate). Like I said, it won’t bother everyone, but will bother many.

Enough so that GM put out a couple bulletins on the subject. Check out #15-NA-033 “Normal Characteristic – Slight Bump, Jerk or Rough Engine Startup [Oct 15, 2015]”. It says “Condition: some customers may comment that there is a slight bump, jerk or rough engine startup during an AutoStart event”. Then it says, “Correction: This is a normal condition”. I guess they said it was unusual, then had to correct it and say it is a normal condition!!! Directive #16-NA-071: Diagnostic Tips for Stop/Start and Auto Stop Operation [Mar 4, 2016] says, “Condition: Vehicle does not engage in Auto Stop mode and Vehicle automatically restarts during an AutoStop event”. It goes on to say, “It is imperative that the customer be well informed about the unique features and operational characteristics of their vehicle equipped with Stop/Start. For the sales team to be fully prepared, they should use the Getting to Know Your Vehicle guide as an outline when presenting the vehicle to the customer”.

Cadillac knows this is a terrible feature and they are not notifying their customers. Other cons: the run-flats are a poor ride; they’re loud and you can feel everything. New CTS doesn’t come with a spare and instead has run-flats. The tactile sliders/”buttons” are over-engineered. Just give me a knob for the radio volume; ditto for the A/C fan speed. Also, a tad more difficult to get out of than previous CTS. Pros: trunk is larger than previous CTS; The panel that comes up in the dash is a cool storage area (and lockable). Cool feature that lets you program the radio so you are notified when your favorite band is on XM. Bluetooth with phone is loud and clear. Has both Android Auto and the IOS version." out of 7 found this review helpful quicker and beter handeling than sports cars By JK on Saturday, July 30, 2016 I own this car - My approximate mileage is 12,000 Pros: "Pure speed and fun" Cons: "The Cue systems need Apple play..." "4.5 sec 0-60 with no problem.

Long drives staying out of the turbos I have achieved 27mpg; be ready to buy tires however it is worth every second. The driving experience is unsurpassed. This is my 12th Caddy and GM has out done themselves with the design, performance and handling on this car. The gloss dash for the Cue attracts dust...about my only complaint on the car. Takes a bit of time to determine what are all the settings you want on the Cue, heads up etc...once you get the hang of it all good. The magnetic ride is AWESOME." out of 2 found this review helpful Caddy girl By Caddy girl on Monday, November 9, 2015 I own this car - My approximate mileage is 11,300 Pros: "Bad to the bone!" Cons: "cup holders, mirrors for backing up, dismal fail" "Found this beauty while getting some repairs done on my XLR. Traded the XLR for the CTS-V. Faster than the XLR. Cool, classy and comfortable Caddy; reminds me of my old Biarritz, but sportier. I always seem to fall in love with, and buy Caddies that are or will no longer be in production.
