Search and see photos of adoptable pets in the Alden, New York area Our Featured Alden, NY Partner: Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue, Inc. Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue is a non-profit incorporation that is funded and operated with a handful of very dedicated volunteers. In an effort to cover our vet bills and such, we ask for an adoption fee/donation for all of the pets that are adopted through our program. This fee ranges between $100 and $300 depending on the age and health of the dog being adopted. Each of our adoption applications are scrutinized to determine whether or not we currently have a dog in foster that matches with a given application. If we do not have a match, we will NOT contact you. Each time we have a dog that is ready for adoption, we again screen all applicants and search for a match. When we do hit upon a match, you will either get a phone call or an email from one of our volunteers. Please be patient if you do not hear from us for a while! We do not forget about any of our applicants and you will remain in the queue until such time that we contact you to ask if you still want to remain on record, or we find you a match.
Once we have matched a dog with an applicant, we ask the applicant to review said dog on our website. If the interest is there, we would give the applicant the foster family's phone number to call and ask more questions about the dog. At this point, we set up a home visit and begin contacting references. If everything works out, we then set up a time for the adopter to come to the foster's home for the adoption to take place. We frown upon allowing potential adopters 'visit' with a dog prior to making up their mind if they want to adopt it or not. An adopter should be able to gather enough information to know whether or not they are interested without actually meeting the dog. IF upon going to the foster family's home for the adoption, the adopter does not feel comfortable with the dog, the adoption will be cancelled at that time and the potential adopter will be dropped from our pending adoptions listings. You may be asking yourself why we do not allow visits prior to adoptions, but the reason is quite simply because we are all volunteers and we do not have the ability to show a dog as if we were selling a car or other usable item.
Our adoptions work very much like the adopting of a child and we appreciate your ability and patience for recognizing that. They are recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club and generally make wonderful family pets.Big Z Warehouse Sale Hoboken Ga Jugs make adorable, loving companions and are great little family dogs with huge personalities.Homes For Sale By Owner Sitka Ak TemperamentBeing individuals, with a mix of both Jack Russell and Pug characteristics, each jug will have its own unique personality. However, here are some traits from both sides that are common in jugs: You should expect some of the fearless Jack Russell qualities, with a need for lots of exercising and sometimes an obsession with digging. Some jugs, like Jack Russells, are very dominant and may suffer from "little dog syndrome" where they feel that they are dominant over all other dogs (and humans for that matter). It is wise to instill in them the knowledge that you are the leader of the pack from a very early age. Typical pug-like qualities you may notice in your jug are sensitivity and a tendency to become jealous of other dogs (and children) in the home. An ideal combination of the two breeds will give you a jug who has a fearless and protective nature, yet is highly sociable and easy to train due to the high intelligence of both breeds. AppearanceJugs, depending on their mix percentages, tend to have pug type faces that are flatter than those of normal Jack Russells, with pug-like ears and a short snout.
They may have leaner Jack Russell type bodies and will usually carry a curly pug tail. Coloring varies (depending on the parents) but the most typical jugs are various shades of either caramel or black. They are very endearing to look at and their cuteness and charm always guarantees a good deal of attention when out and about. Jugs usually grow to between ten to fourteen inches in height and can weigh anywhere between ten to eighteen pounds (again depending on the ratio of crossbreeding and the size of the parents). Jugs are generally very sturdy and healthy little dogs and will live between fourteen and twenty years if fed a healthy diet and exercised daily.Welcome to Jughandle Anatolian Shepherds. We will have Anatolian Shepherd Dog puppies for sale as livestock guardians (LGD), show prospects and companions, in 2015.  Please see the above "Upcoming Litters" link. We are members of the Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of America (ASDCA) and are ASDCA Code of Ethics Breeders.
We honor the commitment we made when we signed the Code or Ethics and will not breed a dog that has failed health testing!  We are located in Delaware County, New York, outside of the Village of Walton.   Our Anatolian Shepherds are outside in open fenced areas on 15+ acres most of the time.  They guard us, our property, my daughter's Tibetan Spaniel, and our chickens with vigor and against all comers.    We have never lost a chicken to predators. We do show our dogs in AKC shows, but we do not "live" to show.  We only breed when we would like to retain a puppy from a particular litter for ourselves and if we are also able to potentially keep every puppy we produce rather than see it go to an inappropriate home.  We are very particular about who we consider to be potential owners of our puppies and screen carefully.  The very first requirement we have is a large, securely fenced area that the puppy/dog will have access to.  This is a must due to the fact Anatolian Shepherds will expand territory.
A securely fenced area keeps the puppy/dog safe and your neighbors happy.  Also, an Anatolian Shepherd is not a breed that can receive adequate exercise on the end of a leash.  We have other requirements but it begins with a large securely fenced area. Any dog we breed will have their hips OFA certified free of hip dysplasia and normal thyroid panels completed before they are used for breeding.  These requirements surpass those of the ASDCA Code of Ethics for Breeders! We have begun submitting elbow x-rays to the OFA to be certified free of elbow dysplasia. We guarantee our puppies against congenital defects and will offer support for the lifetime of any puppy we sell. If you are a broker, dealer, puppy miller, pet shop owner, for profit dog breeder, a breeder who wants to breed designer dogs or mixed breeds or any sort (even LGDs!!!), a Boz Kangal breeder, or any other sort of middleman for any of the above:  DO NOT BOTHER CALLING!
