The other thing is that when there's a huge temperature difference between outside & inside you will get either frosting or even ice on the door between the glasses. At first I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread, but after a few days I realized I was wrong. They are perfect if installed on a stationary window or door, but if they are installed on a door that is constantly used, the louvers have a tendency to come off their tract. You have to up the shade all the way hoping they will slide back on tract, if not, you have to remove the entire unit and correct the louvers. A very tedious and tiring job. I am presently trying to figure out a way to modify the blinds to keep the louvers permanently in place.

If anyone has any ideas, they sure would be appreciated. I was concerned because I have a deadbolt and door knob that is very close to the original window trim molding. This was no problem as the blind assembly fits very close to the window trim molding. There is also a removable panel on the blind assembly that can be removed if the blind assembly extends out to the door knob and deadbolt. After installing the first one, I ordered 4 more. Very easy to install, it takes 10-15 minutes each, no major tools or skills required. They also passed the wife test, she loves the way they look.
