They hold the curtains and attach to my metal doors by magnets - no holes needed. I use two rods per door panel - one on the top and one on the bottom. They hold a single panel securely. When I added a second panel, the top rod seems to pull forward and down just a bit. I think I'm testing the weight by having the rods hold two panels, but so far, so good. They look great - nice and clean and modern, and they were installed easily (remove from packaging, put your curtains on the rods, remove the tape on the magnets (to keep the rods from slipping) and you're done. They reposition relatively easily. The price was excellent too.
