Odell Archibald poses for a photo in her art studio as she prepares for the Art Arbor event that will be part of the Feather and Folk Nature Festival. Frank Gale/The Western Star Her “Art Arbor” event, in the medium of acrylic, is taking place at Days Inn on both June 6 and 7. “It’s for everybody, from the beginner to the advanced professional, but I want people to come along and not be intimidated by anything,” said Archibald, a local artist who owns and operates Odell Archibald Fine Arts.

Archibald will work with participants step by step, blending colours and putting them on a canvas, all while having fun. She likes to teach in the acrylic medium and said she has two paintings she plans to do with participants, including a bird on a post and thistles near a fence, which is all part of the nature theme for the weekend. Judy Cantwell is another local artist. She’ll be working with watercolour during the same two days.
