Tuesday, 9 June 2015 Last week Mark Johnson and Randy Harrison attended the 2015 Toyota Indirect Supplier Meeting in Covington, Ky.  This is a meeting hosted by the Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing Plants on North America. 

It’s important to note that there are 14 of them.  They share news about the most recent year as well as projecting what the near term looks like.  They also recognize various suppliers for performance.   Each Plant has the opportunity to nominate suppliers who provide goods and services to them.  Then a comprehensive Team from Toyota meets to decide who the Best of the Best are. Jefferds received an award for Outstanding Quality Performance in the Area of Trades and Fabrication.  We also received a Superior Performance Award for Safety.  There was only one other supplier in the entire list of over 250 vendors that won two awards!  This is an extreme compliment to all the folks who work at the Toyota Engine Plant, but also to all of you who provide support for them.  It’s also important to note that only 17 awards were presented and Jefferds got two of them! OUTSTANDING hardly says enough! Monday, 20 April 2015 The folks from the Roanoke Branch have won the Best Parts and Service Department Award for the 1st Quarter, 2015. 

This award recognizes the best combined effort of each branch’s Parts and Service Department Employees, Salesmen, Managers and processes in several key areas.  The first area is SAFETY.  If any Parts and Service Department Employee suffers a recordable injury, that branch is disqualified for the quarterly award.  In the first quarter, St Albans and Clarksburg had impressive scores but were disqualified due to safety performance.  Other key areas include PM contract gains, PM completion, parts inventory management, overall profitability to budget and lowest warranty rejection rates.
