I specifically requested to pick up the rental in Sandwich IL where you currently still advertise your presence with a roadside U-Haul sign. If that location is no longer active you should no longer have your sign out there. I had an issue with returning my uhaul truck in which I was charged an extra $50 for being late, even though I returned it after hours the day before. When I called asking about it I got a very rude person who kept cutting me off mid sentence.

I finally went in and asked about the extra charge and ended up speaking with the "boss" who was also very rude. They told me they don't even allow after hour drop offs at their location yet they have a key drop box for the uhaul trucks outside. I eventually got my $50 back, but that was a nightmare to go through. I would avoid this location at all cost. Nothing, everything went well I did not have a problem with Tool Time Rentals. However, I did have problems with the overall experience. I reserved my 6 x 12 cargo trailer on May 3, 2016. I was supposed to pick it up at Value Plus of Illinois, 1582 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore, IL. When we arrived there was no trailer. They told us we should have received a phone call the night before about our reservation. We called Uhaul Corporate and were told our trailer was at Tool Time Rental, 1802 Sycamore Rd, Dekalb. When we got there, we were told that they had reported to Corporate that their 6 x 12 cargo trailer was not operable and we should have received a phone call the night before from Corporate.

Tool Time was able to give us a 6 x 12 utility trailer. At 11:20 that day I received a voice mail that our trailer could be picked up at 1150 Praire Street, Aurora for our 3:15 reservation. Our original reservation was for 8:00am pickup. That same day my husband got a voice mail that our trailer could be picked up on Lake Street in Aurora. The whole reservation was a complete mess and we never received any phone calls prior to our pickup day that there were any changes to our reservation. We are very disappointed with the way the reservation was handled. Great service, Straight forward about pricing This had nothing to do with Tool Time, but trying to get a handle on when and where I was going to be picking up my rental was quite difficult. When I called at first, I was told that I would be having to drive to Madison for pickup.Everything sent very well. I was notified the day before moving that my truck was located 1 hour from my physical location. I reserved truck at facility 10 mins from my place.

I had two separate pieces of equipment located in 2 different states and wasn't notified until less than 24 hours before pickup. Poor experience and covert inconvenient. It was easy in and out, and quick too. Very friendly inside, I was greeted almost immediately. Only thing to mention was that I thought the steering was a little off, felt a little loose to me, a little concerning. But, the truck was clean and everyone was very nice! Very friendly and accommodating. Nothing, they were great. Tool Time was hard to find since it sits behind other stores. We dropped our U-Haul and car dolly off on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. There were U-Hauls parked in a line blocking off their parking lot and there was a sign on the front of the building that said NO U-HAUL PARKING. What were we supposed to do? We had to leave it right in front of the sign because there wasn't any other available parking. We left the car dolly off to the side parking lot with the other car trailers.

We took a video and pictures of everything in case there was a problem because it was such a bizarre situation. I would recommend another U-Haul drop off location in Dekalb if one is available. They had the wrong truck recorded on the contract. Brand new 15 foot truck was a welcome surprise. They did not have the appliance dolly I asked for so we had to rent one from tool time itself. The location was fine but the process of renting the Uhaul and the people I delt with were awful through the Uhaul company itself Great, friendly staff and service! Always my "go to" for rental needs. Scheduled on-line and the truck was not there when it was to be there. Very poor on-line service. Will not do that again. This place runs great and everyone was helpful. I ended up keeping a few of the furniture pads and I'm being charged for every day I have to keep them ?? Ths was a quick easy drop off. Simple fast and easy. My original reservation wasn't available but they still gave me another reservation on the same day.
