A twelve-year old spectator was gored to death and 23 others injured in a jallikattu organised at Thavasimadai in the district on Saturday.According to the police, Sivakumar (12) a resident of Emakaalapuam village, came to watch the jallikattu at Thavasimadai organised as a part of the St Anthony’s church festival on Saturday. One of the bulls that was released into the taming arena suddenly pounced on the spectators and Sivakumar was caught in its horns. The bull dragged the boy up to a distance of around 500 metres away from the Vaadi Vasal. When the bull released him from the horns with full force, Sivakumar flew to some distance and landed on a slab, used for making parottas, kept  in a shop. He suffered grievous injuries on the head.The boy after being administered first aid at the temporary medical camp near the jallikattu venue was rushed to the Dindigul Government Hospital. However, doctors at the GH after attending to the boy said that he was brought dead. Sanarpatti Police have registered a case in connection with the death of the boy.

Of the 23 injured, six person, who were seriously hurt, were shifted to Dindigul GH after first-aid at the venueOver 354 tamers and around 411 bulls brought from Madurai, Dindigul, Theni and Sivaganga districts participated in the event. We have an unscheduled visit to this Resort last summer. After finishing our pilgrimage in Palani we want to go to Kodaikkanal But as the ghat roads are damaged, we opted out DDR.

I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The place takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the regular life and you can just spend your time soaking up in nature.... Palraj, the manager, was so kind as to accommodate us despite having to make last minute changes due to illness. We arrived late at night, and him and his staff graciously brought us plates and silverware to eat the dinner we brought. It arrived rather early in the morning at 4:30 am. We took an auto to reach Double Dutch Resort. We were a little jittery until we reached the resort. But once we reached it, we had a fantastic time.
