We just got a new dog in that needs an eye removed. We had another dog that needed an eye removal 2 weeks ago. We have about $5000 of charges on our care credit for emergency surgeries in the past three months. We are very low on Money for the care of these dogs. It is getting to the point that the Oklahoma branch may have to shut down for six months up to year or completely shut down for good. I am going to try to get grants to help us support the rescue; however, we would not see any money if we get a grant until 2017. escues were then contacted and agreed to take some of them even though these are usua...lly the ones who can cost the most in vetting. And then there is," I am done. I need a break. 'I can't do this anymore' Serene Hirst." I went a long way in the opposite direction to pick up all the cuties and than doubled back way the other way to meet SereneHirst. I don't know who was more amazed, she or I that I fit them all in my car. There were pekes and a mix, shih tzus, maltese, and poodles. We had a plan. Serene took them and met with other rescues. So far they are all spoken for! I am full but we figured the pekes, were coming back here in a day or 2. G rescue who came for 1 dog, a maltese, or a poodle, saw how sweet the pekes were and left with them too. She took 3 instead of 1! Serene is still out running to meet a rescue picking up the last maltese shy girl. The toughest part was not knowing if we could save them all. All 12 are safe. Most will find a good home but many will end up being dumped, given away to a stranger, or just plain mistreated. We are breed specific and rescue pekes. I have NEVER seen so many pekes in shelters near me and emails surrounding them as I have in the last month. N have worked my patooty off asking for help trying to get them all safe before today. Folks just love a cute free dog until they get it home. Pekes are beautiful. Pekes are temperamental. Pekes can have high medical needs. I have been so worried and scared . I just want to say thank you to all the rescues and fosters who didn't know why I was tripping but jumped up lately to help. C
