Housekeeping and laundry facilities. The largest of the Azores islands, Sao Miguel is known as the Green Island for it’s vast plains of fertile land and mountains. The most populous in the island chain, the largest city in the archipelago Ponta Delgada is a ten minute drive. A growing cosmopolitan center, the ocean front city is both contemporary and historic with a mix of modern, 16th and turn of the century architecture and great dining and night life. Scenic and diverse, the island features the mountainous peaks of Pico da Vara and Agua de Pau and several beautiful lakes including the Lagoa do Fogo and Sete Cidades. The true landmark of the island is The Furnas Valley, with it’s volcanic thermal baths and steam vents spouting from around a beautiful lagoon.
