Deputies served a search warrant at that property Tuesday night.A picture tweeted out by Officer Chris Hegstrom of MCSO shows pens full of dozens dogs, including many pugs and French bulldogs. At least check, Hegstrom said animal crimes investigators found upwards of 125 dogs inside a 1,200-square-foot home where the dog owners were also living. "They're living in it, but ya know what? They want to make money, it's greed," said Sheriff Joe Arpaio. "They could care less about the conditions of the animals; probably don't care about their own conditions."
The scene is near 348th Avenue and Van Buren. Arpaio arrived at the location around 6 p.m. Deputies first found out about the case after someone tried to buy one of the dogs and didn't like what he or she saw.Arpaio said the dogs where living in deplorable conditions with feces coating the walls and very little food or water.According to Hegstrom, the man and woman who own the dogs were booted out of a home in Phoenix three months ago. He said that's when investigators believe they moved their illegal puppy mill operation out into the desert.  A veterinarian will evaluate all the dogs and the owners could face one charge for each dog that has been neglected.
