We facilitate the rescue and adoption of animals in need by working with other rescues to remove animals from harm's way and into a "SAFE HOME".OUR MISSION: To be directly involved in the rescue of abused, neglected, and homeless animals, and to provide information to the public regarding the needs of animals in their community and abroad.

Most of our work takes place in North America, but we are slowly & ambitiously embarking on a global campaign to help animals around the world. Due to the cultural differences and current economic downturns in many other countries, we are aware of terrible injustices that are taking place to animals worldwide, and we collaborate with rescue groups globally whose values and ambitions match our own mission.

At Safehome Animal Rescue, our goal is to find the most suitable environment for each specific animal, and we reserve the right to refuse anyone for adoption and/or foster homes. We want all our loving animals to find a loving forever home, and strive to achieve that through our policies and careful selection process. We strive to ensure all animals are medically and emotionally sound for adoption. We fully vet all animals we adopt out, including spay/neuter. We will always, to the best of our knowledge, be honest about any health or behavioural issues. Most of our animals are stray or shelter animals, and we do not have their complete history. We cannot guarantee age, breed, or behaviour. What we observe with each animal may differ from what happens in your home; you must be ready to dedicate some time to helping your new friend adapt to their new environment. An application must be filled out for each animal so that we can review and find the best possible adopter/foster for each of our animals.

The selection process then involves reference checks and a home visit conducted by one of our associates before you are permitted to adopt/foster, followed by a 1-2 week extended "home visit” before permanent adoption is allowed. This helps ensure the right match is made as it allows both the rescue and the adopter to evaluate whether the animal's needs are being met in the new home, and how good of a fit you are for one another. During that time, and until a permanent adoption contract is signed, the animal remains in the ownership & responsibility of Safehome Animal Rescue. Our adoption fees are non-negotiable. Upon the termination of any adoption, the animal must be returned to Safehome Animal Rescue and no refund will be given. Our standard fee is $400 for dogs, $150 for adult cats, and $200 for kittens. These fees include the costs of vetting & spay/neuter.We will not, under any circumstances adopt out an animal for breeding purposes, so please don’t contact us if you want an un-altered pet.
