Ohio Hound Rescue is a 501c3 recognized charity in the state of Ohio, explicitly founded to aid in the rescue of hounds (and other breeds, as well as cats) from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky shelters. We are an offshoot of "Three Sisters Pet Rescue" which has been in existence since 2002. We started out as a family run rescue and we grew over a ten year period... to need a fundraising arm.

That's how Ohio Hound Rescue was born! Most of TS/OHR's adoptables are housed in foster care, where they are getting the love and training they need to become really good pets. Some are in boarding at veterinary clinics; either because they need special veterinary attention. Or because we simply do not have enough foster homes for them. Please adopt, foster, donate and tell your friends! And, while I'm asking.... PLEASE always, always, always.... St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950 Visit us on the web at: here Open six days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10-4 pm Donations welcome: Purina, Pedigree, Grain free, Diamond dog food, dry and canned Purina cat food, litter, pet toys, buckle collars, and leashes. Clorox, mops, scrub brushes, buckets, rubber water bowls, stainless steel kennel buckets. We now have an obedience training program for some of our dogs. Selected dogs are sent to a local correctional institute and are taught basic obedience by the inmates, including housetraining.

We have a high adoption rate with dogs from this program! We are the Belmont County Animal Shelter. We operate Belmont county's only animal shelter. We house stray and owner surrendered animals. At any given time, the population of animals in our shelter averages 45-70 canines and 20-45 felines. We offer programs for assistance with having owned animals altered, programs on humane education, and enforce Ohio dog laws according to the O.R.C. Adoption fees: $125, all dogs and puppies, $25, adult cats not de-clawed; $35, adult declawed cat; (There is a $5 County selling fee also required for all animals, this is included in the adoption fee) Residents of Belmont County, Ohio must also purchase a dog license for $12 and pay any late license fees if they exist. All animals are spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations. Our pets are adopted to be a part of your family, so they must live inside with you. Our hours are: Daily 10-3pm Closed Tuesday, Sunday 12-3. We adopt our dogs and cats to approved individuals and families.

We also take more than one application on an animal and choose the best match. We will consider only those rescue organizations who are 501C3's. This means they must be non- profit organizatons that also adopt only to approved individuals and families, and will not sell any animal to the public, including retail establishments and pet stores.
