A wedge-shaped head is clean-cut and the skull’s bony structure is well-chiseled beneath the eyes. With a dominant muzzle and wide nose with prominent nostrils, a pair of powerful jaws support strong teeth which usually close in a scissors style.

The eyes are medium-sized, set far apart, and are brown or hazel in color. The Labrador’s average litter size is 8 puppies and these young ones will require responsible care in their growing years.Naturally curious and ready for an adventure, they enjoy freely running in an open field, searching for toys and avidly following every possible scent they detect. If regular exercise is not encouraged, these dogs tend to bloat.

This is a condition that results when gases, fluids, and/or solids build up in the stomach, cannot be eliminated, and may be fatal. A dog with bloat must be rushed to the vet as quickly as possible.In some cases, Labradors are prone to bouts of epilepsy, as well as Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture of the knee. Labrador puppies are very quick to learn, but this learning calls for even doses of praise and control.
