I am often asked about pricing. At the 4 week mark we grade the puppies based on the qualities we desire: big, blonde and blockie. Big - we look at paw size and frame; we like sturdy dogs Blonde - we like lighter colored dogs; and we like comfortable feeling coats on our dogs Blockie - we consider ear position and head shape/size; we breed our dogs in order for them to achieve boxy heads. From here we grade puppies at three levels: Common, Premium, and Stellar. Gender is also a factor. There are generally fewer females born in each litter while the demand for a female dog exceeds that of a male puppy. So, a female puppy of the same grade might be priced $100-$200 higher than the male counterpart. A Common puppy might range in price from six to $800.
While a Premium grade puppy can range in price from seven to $1,000. Puppies with the maximum number of desirable traits are in the Stellar range and will be priced from $900-$1300 Stoney Creek Farm - Breeders of big, blonde, boxy Golden RetrieversWe have virtually confirmed (Mother Nature willing) we will breed late August/early September.
