Tune in to today’s Window FAQ: How To Fix Blinds That Won’t Tilt – 2″ Horizontal Blinds Flat Head Screw Driver, Rubber Mallet, Needle-nose Pliers Remove the valance from the valance clips.  Tilt the slats horizontally.  Lift and lock slats in the raised position with approximately 1″ of space between the top slat and the underside of the headrail. Remove the blind from the mounting brackets. Remove the cord tassels and washers from the tilter cords and set aside. Remove the blind’s end caps with a flat head screw driver.  If you need some extra muscle, use a rubber mallet to gently tap the screw driver.  

You can also use needle-nose pliers to pull the end caps off the headrail. Slide the metal tilt rod away from the open end and out of the cord tilt mechanism until it is free of the tilting part. Use your hands to gently pry open the headrail and pull the tilting mechanism up and out of the rail. The old cord will pull out along with the tilt mechanism. Turn the tilt rod so the tape drums are in the open position. Slide the tilt rod into the cord tilter mechanism.  Tip: You may have to turn the tilt rod slightly in order to find the correct alignment. Replace the end caps. Use a rubber mallet if needed to ensure a tight fit. Test the cords to make sure the slats tilt correctly. Reinstall the blind into the brackets and replace the cord tassels with a double loop knot. Be careful not to damage the pleats by pressing too hard. Use a hairdryer to blow debris off the back of roof blinds and then vacuum. CurtainsAll curtains can be dry-cleaned.  Due to the nature of some fabrics, a small amount of shrinkage, up to approximately 5% can be expected. To keep dry cleaning to a minimum, we would recommend they are cleaned regularly with the upholstery attachment of a vacuum cleaner. Hems and side seams should never be pressed as this will distort the curtains. ShuttersRegularly cleaning will ensure your shutters continue to look great year in, year out. It shouldn't take too long and we promise it will not be hard work. It is important you follow our advice and use the appropriate method of cleaning to protect your shutters and for the best effect.
