Yes (8) No (2)  Report Yes (8) No (2) Verified purchaser Ok, to be fair we have a Vitamix. My girlfriend made fun of me when I brought it home because they are crazy expensive. 6 years later, it had a warranty issue and had to be sent in, so I bought this for shakes and margaritas in between. It does mix things, like protein shakes, but doesn't seem to finely grind ice for Rita's. For the price, it's functional, and if your moving into your first apartment and want to make drinks it'll do. The crazy thing is it actually spins really fast, I'm not sure why it doesn't seem to chop as finely, maybe the shape of the blades? Anyway, here's a bar tending tip for you. Blend the ice and mix first, then after you reach the consistency your looking for, add the liquor and blend for a sec or two. Liquor melts ice and if you put it in first you'll end up with a liquid cocktail.
Yes () No (2)  Report Yes () No (2) Verified purchaser I bought this blender about a week ago. So far it works really good on smoothies and milk shakes which is the reason I purchased the product. I couldn't give it 5 stars because it does get kind of stuck when blending say frozen fruit, I have to keep turning it off to mix with a spoon. But for the cheap price I'm very satisfied over all. It looks so much better in person...The performance cannot be beat...I made a pineapple..I have to say how impress I am...It crushed the ice completely as well as the frozen strawberries and made the dry oatmeal disappear...Rival did an Excellent job with this blender and for that reason I give it a 5 Star...I will continue to use it and should I need another in the future I will definately consider Rival first...As well as recommend to my friends and family. This blender was such a great deal for the price I bought a second one, and have been rotating using/washing the pitcher assembly. ~ Blending - oats, egg whites, frozen bananas, ice? Before using this blender I went thru 2 different mid level blenders and this blender liquefies my shakes and crushes ice at least as well if not better than they did and it also has a large pitcher. ~ Noise - It's a little loud, but not that much different than any other blender I have used. ~ Cleaning/Disassembly - The blender is easy to clean and disassemble. However, the twist-on connection between the pitcher and the cutting blade assembly on one of the blenders I have fits a little tight. Also, when re-assembling, it's a good idea to look thru the top of the pitcher and make sure the rubber gasket is centered in the pitcher and also make sure the blade assembly is properly engaged with the pitcher or the pitcher can leak. To me, these are very very minor annoyances and would not stop me from purchasing this blender again.
~ Conclusion - Will this blender blend as well as a top of the line Blendtec? Rhodesian Ridgeback Puppies For Sale ScHowever it probably blends nearly as well as the mid level blenders while costing the same as their replacement parts.Frenchie Puppies For Sale In Tn Yes () No (4)  Report Yes () No (4) OK this is a great blender.Full Spectrum Lighting NashvilleStrong powerful and does the job great.I would have gave it 5 stars but for one reason I did not. Yes () No (1)  Report Yes () No (1) I wouldn't overload it cause i don't think the motor will handle it. It mixes drinks, smoothies and sauces very well. Yes (0) No (0)  Report Yes (0) No (0) I bought this blender thinking that I can do many things. I tried chopping cabbage and it really didnt work. Grinding batter in this takes too long a time. Moreover there is no smaller attachment to grind small quantities. Worst product that I have brought!!! My wife and I have become quite addicted to the Starbucks Carmel Frappuccino, and wanted something easier than dragging out the Cuisinart food processor blender. When I spotted this for less than $9, my expectation was a unit that would work for a while but not perform well on the tougher blending tasks: happily I was very mistaken. The Walmart Rival Personal Blender; blends as well as the fancy TV brand, at a price about 1/10th of the fancy unit. Tested it out: touch of milk, Carmel, coffee, pinch of salt and crushed ice.....in the blender for 20 seconds, than in a glass, whipped cream and bit more Carmel..Starbucks taste for a fraction. I'd recommend this unit as is, and especially if you have the cups and accessories for the equivalent unit sold on TV .
One caution outlined in the manual: do not attempt to crush ice by itself, there should be some liquid in the cup as well. I started with a quick mix of cubes and crushed from my ice maker. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () Here is the story with three other cheap personal blenders. The first was the Hamilton Beach, it blended well but was not designed to run continuously. It worked for two months and the motor burnt out. It was not under heavy load. The second was Walmart's Farberware $17.88 machine. I make milk shakes and I felt it blended poorly leaving the ice cream in the milk slushy. The third was the Oster for $25. It not only did a poor job, the narrow cup was difficult to use and drink from. Finally I tried the $9 Rival. It blended very well and has a good cup, unlike the Hamilton Beach, wont leak when sealed. I even made a smoothy with dates among other ingredients, which pureed very well. The HB was rated a 175 watts and had no ON switch which let it run by itself. The Rival at 220 watts works by twisting the cup in the motor which turns it on and it can be left for two or three minutes to do its work.
Hopefully it will not burn out. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () I got one of these for myself, and gave it to my daughter, who needed it more for smoothies. I have used this for things like pulverizing nuts to make walnut milk, smoothies, and milkshakes. Not a problem with any of it. I enjoy the small size, the power of the motor, the travel lid, and the simplicity of the design, just twist to run. Yes (3) No (0)  Report Yes (3) No (0) First off, wow. When I got the rival personal blender for less then 10$ I had very little faith in it.. But I took it out of the package and used it, for the very first time.. And I have to say, this is the best 10$ I've ever spent. I can't believe how perfect it is! I would 100% recommend this. I want a second cup for my husband Yes (2) No (0)  Report Yes (2) No (0) Verified purchaser I am really wnjoying this personal blender. I have been juicing, smoothing and making coffee coolatas all week. Did I mention that I've lost 5 lbs. Giggles.
All of the great reviews caused me to run right out and get mine. Yes (8) No (1)  Report Yes (8) No (1) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I got this for under 10 bucks. I'll talk about the cons. The lid is a bad design. It has a groove all around the edge and makes it difficult to clean. Not a big deal. Con #2 is that it super loud. Not a big enough deal to knock a star off. #3 is a smell a hint of burning when I use it but it has been running strong for a while. If none of these things bother you, it's a great 15 oz blender. Yes (9) No (3)  Report Yes (9) No (3) Verified purchaser Over the past several years I've gone through 2 Magic Bullets, 2 Hamilton Beach blenders, and various knock offs. I am a daily blender user, so I need something durable and long lasting. So when my last Magic Bullet bit the dust, I was desperate for something asap that was fairly priced. I was skeptical about this little $8.74 blender, but it was simple, cheap, and has some pretty good reviews so I decided to give it a shot.
