Finished building up a set of 24/28, 2x lacing wheelset with these hoops. The rims where straight right out of the box, and practically trued themselves. Radially and laterally they are dead on. Cornering with Michelin Pro 3 25mm tires is much better than my old 13 by 23 rims. I've put 80 miles on them so far and I don't have any brake surging, and the rim joint was machined nicely flat. All in all a great durable rim. Mike T. from Ontario Canada I built up a pair of these a few months ago and I was very impressed with the quality, especially for the price.  I've never been a fan of sleeved joints due to the possibility of uneven joints but these were just fine.  There is no "tick-tick" when braking.  I can see the sleeve through a spoke hole and it's sealed in place with a caulking material - this will prevent sleeve looseness and rattles. The rims built up easily - almost dead true at the "one thread showing" tensioning stage. This shows that they were flat to begin with.
I've done a few rides on them and they are doing just fine.  Maybe they are a bit heavy for my weight at 488g (average of 2 rims) but this extra weight means they will stand up fine for me.Hot Tub Movers Memphis TnNice rims and great service from Brandon at BHS - the best wheel parts place on the planet.Cleaning The Oreck Air Purifier Solid rim for beginner builderSea World Tickets Vons Jeremy Sievers from Des Moines, IA United States This rim is good, but not perfect. The ones I got were from the first batches and they were drilled right down the middle. I like an alternated drill pattern. 23mm wide road rims are a game changer! I build up a set 20/24 with BHS hubs and laze spokes. I rode for 2 weeks and my wife took them from me...she is better then me I am was doing some MTB stuff anyway...she rode them all the time, training, racing with Michi Pro4s.
Won all sorts of races the last year and a half. Constantly rolls up with silver spokes and sliver hubs with these no-name black rims and kills girls on bikes with Zipp 404s.They build very easy, I would recommend a beginner use brass nipples on drive side rear. Very satisfying to build your own stuff. May other companies are building with this same rim, check em out. Build your own save, $300 and get better spokes. Just got some Pacenti SL23 for my road bike, but going to build another set of these for my cross with 24/28 spoke build. Bryan from WA, United States I built my first wheelset using the XC279 rim last summer.  I've got the wheelset on my cyclo-cross bike that I use daily to commute to work.  When the weather is nice I toss on some 35c cross tires and do some light trail riding.  The rims have stayed true (haven't had to touch them in fact) and feel very stable and strong. The rims arrived strait and were easy to build into a true wheelset.  Both wheels are 32h and the rims weighed right at 500-501 grams each.
The ERD measurement provide on this page seems accurate and worked well when ordering spokes.Great bang for buck if looking for a durable rim. Jeff from Minneapolis, MN United States Nice high quality rim.  Looks great with black spokes and BHS hubs.  This was 1st wheel set I built and I had no problems with the build.  I used BHS hubs SL79 24 radial front and SL210 28/2 rear hub with black Sapim Race spoke/Sapim secure lock nipples.  I purchase 25mm Vittoria Open Corsa based on Brandon's recommendation.  I was really impressed by BHS web site.  Most importantly, I want say thank you to Brandon for all his help. To get the benefits from extra disc brake power we’ve provided more tyre clearance - up to 28mm for more rubber on the road for more grip, less rolling resistance and a little more comfort too. We’ve tuned the geometry also for a little more stability adding to the fun factor of this fast road bike.
