Rottweiler Puppies For Sale In Virginia Beach

Thinking about adopting a Rottweiler puppy? Like most people, you’ve probably heard time and again that if you have kids, you should adopt a Rottweiler puppy (or, gasp! find a Rottweiler puppy for sale). The rationale is that an adult shelter dog is an unknown quantity, so buying or adopting a Rottweiler puppy is safer. Puppies eventually can be trained out of this behavior, of course, and there are exceptions to every rule, but generally speaking, an adult Rottweiler (or any adult dog) is much less likely to shred your drapes like coleslaw or function as a “helpful” canine document shredder. So a three-month-old Rottweiler puppy needs to go outside every three hours, a four-month-old needs to go every four hours, and so on.  But if you’re planning on leaving your dog alone during your workday, you’ll definitely want to adopt a full-grown dog, ideally from a Rottweiler rescue that can help you find the right dog for your lifestyle. Let’s bust these myths about adopting a Rottweiler
Time to get real: when we ask people what reservations they have about Rottweiler adoption, we hear the same things over and over again.   You CAN find purebred Rottweilers for adoption in an animal shelter or rescue group. Rottweilers and Rottweiler puppies for adoption are NOT in any way inferior to or different from those for sale. If you want a puppy, you DON’T have to buy a Rottweiler puppy.  Rottweiler puppies ARE available for adoption. Here’s the truth: you absolutely can find a Rottweiler, even a Rottweiler puppy, for adoption in an animal shelter or rescue group.  Think about it: let’s say you buy a Rottweiler puppy for sale by a breeder. But what would happen to your wonderful Rottweiler if, tragically, something happened to you? The lucky person who adopts your Rottweiler would be getting a great dog!  Rottweiler rescue organizations often care for their adoptable dogs in foster homes, which means their foster families will be able to tell you if the Rottweiler you want to adopt is good with other animals or kids, and if he or she is housebroken and knows any basic commands.
As you can see, adopting from a rescue organization is likely the very safest way for people with children to add a new Rottweiler to their family!Maxwell has lived around cats and did great. He had no prey drive and was just curious but would lose interest quickly. Having said that, we always like to remind potential adopters that even though a dog has lived with cats amiably, you still need to use caution and introduce them very slowly as new environments/different cats can cause different reactions. Maxwell is great with kids and other dogs. He lived with 2 other dogs (an 8 yr old male Saluki mix and a 5 yr old female Rottweiler). Maxwell immediately hit it off with the female but it took a bit of time (about a month) for the two boys to play nice together. He enjoys playing with the dogs in the yard but doesn't like to hang out by himself. Maxwell loves to be loved on and takes Rottie leaning to a whole new level, leaning until he's laying on your feet. See more information on Maxwell

Early obedience training and socialization is a must. This breed can be very territorial and protective of their family and their environment. Rottweilers can be very intimidating, still retaining an undeserving reputation as a vicious and/or mean dog, however they do extremely well in a family environment.Does your Rottweiler bark, howl, and cry whenever you leave the house?
The Rottweiler has a short and glossy coat that is relatively easy to groom. An average shedding breed, brushing with a firm bristle brush regularly should remove any excess hair or dead hairs. Bathing too often will remove the natural oils from the coat and/or skin. Dry shampooing is used by many Rottweiler owners as well as breeders so they are not to remove the essential oils in this breeds coat. Rottweilers are very eager to earn and will excel if given the opportunity. Obedience training is a must as this breed can become destructive without enough stimulation. A firm and dominant hand must be used when training this powerful breed. The Rottweiler is extremely intelligent and does well in many different sports and trials, but can also be stubborn. Obedience classes are recommended, but not always required. There are several accepted methods of house training your new Rottweiler puppy. The Rottweiler should have at least a large sized yard. They aren't really active indoors, so they need plenty of exercise outdoors, off lead preferably.

Ask a QuestionAbout Rottweilers AnonymousI have 2 Rottweilr pups, they are brothers. Will they become enemies when they get older? 1 CommentAnonymousIf the puppies grow up together and get along now, they should be just fine as adults. However, if they are not neutered, then they could become aggressive towards each other later on in life. Get them neutered between 9 months and a year old. Discourage any aggressive behavior and make sure they go through basic obedience classes one on one and work with them together and separately so they know who to listen too.AnonymousWhat basic puppy shots do they come with? 2 CommentsAnonymousA reputable and responsible breeder will have a puppy have their first set of shots at about 7 weeks of age.
However, this is a question to ask your vet. All puppies need 3 sets of shots that protect them from illness' that can kill a puppy. Including but not limited to bordatella, parvo, worms, ect.AnonymousA basic puppy shot or the first set of shots includes Distemper, Measles, Parainfluenza (Given at 6 - 8 weeks), the second set of shots includes DHPP - Vaccines for Distemper, Adenovirus [hepatitis], Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus (Given at 10 - 12 weeks), at 12 - 24 weeks, the rabies shot is given and at 14 - 16 weeks the DHPP shot is given again.AnonymousI need to know the name of an insurance company that will provide home insurance to an owner of a Rottweiler? 1 CommentAnonymousBecause the Rottie is the #3 breed of dog that is on the 'bite' or 'aggression' list, not many insurance companies will insure an owner that has one. However, since we do not know what province, state or even country you live in; we can not tell you the answer you are looking for. It is best to contact the companies in your area and ask one by one.
AnonymousShould a Rottweiler as a pup have specks white in color on their feet and chest? 1 CommentAnonymousMost people would view this as unworthy in a purebred Rottweiler puppy. It is probably either not full purebred rottweiler or it is just a trait.AnonymousI was looking at purchasing a male puppy. I checked into the history of the parents. The male Sire is the great grandparent of the Dam. Is this a problem? 1 CommentAnonymousSome breeders use their sire's multiple times in the lines of their dogs because they want to keep a certain trait in their lines that they can not find in another dog. However, that can have a negative effect on the puppies healthy and well-being. If the puppies are looked after by a vet and have been checked for health problems and have none, that is a good thing. It is up to you to decide whether or not you agree with that type of breeding. It would be the same as if your great grandfather was also your father; so it becomes a personal choice after making sure the puppy is free from health problems.
