They come from the attic through the bathroom ventilator fan fixture and fall into the bowl. If you are using regular exterminators, they should dust your attic once per year to eliminate such problems. 1 posts, read 9,221 times 23 posts, read 117,159 times Originally Posted by IC_deLight nothing 'comes from' the attic.

I've seen them, they definately get up there alot. We've also seen them crawl right up the outside walls and through cracks into the house. And finally I've found them dead in recessed lighting fixtures and watched live ones fall from them with my own eyes. Talk to any exterminator, dust the attic. They seem to actually like the heat (nasty little buggers). We had an attic fan in G'town, and they would quite often fall from the louvers when it was just starting up. We have also had them crawl out from around the lighting fixtures. I don't really think they can crawl up from the drainage pipes...they would have to navigate quite a bit of submerged 'terrain', and even the 'P' trap in the pipes. The unfortunate incident proved that there is no end to the list of things that can interrupt your flight. The most bizarre reasons a flight has been turned around include maggots spilling out over guests from over-head compartments, and forgetting to pick up an official's son. Some situations cannot be foreseen or prepared for by cabin crew, resulting in having to turn the plane around to sort out the issue This month a flight had to return mid-journey to JFK Airport after the pilot hit a flock of geese after takeoff. The pilot was reported to have said: 'Departure American 1320 has declared an emergency and we'd like to return to JFK.' The New York airport has a problem with the large number of birds who live near the airport and there have been several attempts to control the birds with blasting them with loud noises. This not the first time a bird has been hit by a plane, causing problems for the aircraft. In 2010 a Beirut flight was interrupted when a 'big bird' came into contact with one of the plane's fan blades causing an engine failure.

All 92 passengers were unharmed and safety arrived back to Rafik Hariri International Airport, but sadly the same is unlikely to be said for the bird. A town councillor from Hertfordshire tweeted that his British Airways flight to Dubai was forced to return to London due to a foul odour wafting from an overflowing toilet Cabin crew were unable to solve the smelly issue and the situation became unbearable for passengers seated nearby. The plane had to turn around near Brussels and land at Heathrow AirportLast Saturday the world was stunned when it learned a 'smelly poo' was so bad that the British Airways plane it was discovered on, had to turn around and return to London.Passengers headed for Dubai were told by the captain that the smell was a result of 'liquid faecal excrement,' and it was in the interests of health and safety to end the flight. A 15-hour delay then followed and travellers were put up in hotel rooms and offered food vouchers, making it one of the most expensive and disruptive excretions to date.

In 2010, passengers on board a US Airways flight from Atlanta to New York City were left horrified after maggots started spilling out of overhead luggage compartments onto unsuspecting travellers below. Scared onlookers jumped out of their seats to throw the wriggling creatures off their bodies and many victims had to be calmed down by the cabin crew, according to reports. The cause of the incident turned out to be an infested suitcase, and a decontamination crew made sure the creatures were all removed as passengers waited at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The plane continued to Charlotte, North Carolina, where it was taken out of service and sterilised. Gerard Depardieu was removed from a flight for unruly behaviour, reportedly sparked by alcohol Even the stars are subject to planes being turned round, and are sometimes the cause of the problems. When nature calls on a plane and the seat belt sign is on, it can feel like the longest time in the world. Movie star Gerard Depardieu felt the same on board a flight bound for Dublin from Paris.

Reportedly drunk, the 62-year-old took matters into his own hands, when told he had to remain seated as the plane taxied to the runway.Friends of a 'mortified' Depardieu said the actor was 'absolutely not drunk' but had been caught short and forced to urinate into an empty bottle as privately as possible. When some spilled on the floor, they said, the actor offered to clean it up himself but the crew decided to turn round and taxi back to the terminal and have him escorted off the jet.The plane was professionally cleaned, eventually taking off two hours behind schedule. An unidentified woman was stung on an Alaska Airlines flight while it was taxing. She was checked by medics and left the plane, which originated in Mexico Flight attendants killed the arachnid, which stuck needle in woman's hand. It is not known which type of scorpion stung the Portland-bound traveller A reporter for the Oregonian newspaper, Tyson Alger, who was on the flight, tweeted about the incident that a man flicked the scorpion off his shoulder and it then landed on the woman's handA woman had the shock of her life when she was stung by a scorpion on an Alaska Airlines flight bound for Portland last month.

The creature reportedly had landed on another passenger's shoulder, who promptly flicked it off onto the female victim's shoulder. The Flight 567 flight was forced to return to the gate at Los Angeles and the woman was checked over by medical experts. It was unconfirmed how the eight-legged arachnid made it onto the plane, but the aircraft had originated in Los Cabos, Mexico. Jeff Ellis was travelling from Washington with Alaska Airline when he was stung on the elbow, (right). Experts believe striped bark scorpion, (left), felt threatenedTerrifyingly this is not the first Alaskan Airlines flight which has seen a scorpion sting a passenger. In 2011 Jeff Ellis, of Oregon, was stung by the creature while on a commercial flight from Seattle, Washington, to Anchorage, Alaska. He felt something crawl up his sleeve and tried to brush it away, only to be stung on the elbow. The victim was rushed to see medical staff at Anchorage hospital and was offered 4,000 frequent-flier miles and two round-trip tickets as compensation.

It is believed the creature hitched a ride from Texas. Ellis' girlfriend said she pretty much jumped out of her seat Ellis said he was trying to sleep on the 1,400-mile overnight Alaska Airlines flight when he felt something in his sleeve and tried to brush it awayFor most of us, if you come after the gate is shut it's tough luck and you'll be forced to fork out for another flight. One Iraqi official's son succeeded in not only getting onto the plane, but actually caused it to turn around mid-air and return to pick him up.The incident occurred last year on a Baghdad-bound Middle East Airlines flight, when it turned back to Beirut 20 minutes after takeoff, allegedly to allow the son of Iraqi transport minister Hadi al-Amiri to board. Reportedly, Iraqi authorities said they would not allow the plane to land in Baghdad if al-Amiri's son, Mahdi, was not on board,However, Iraq's Transport Ministry said that although the plane had turned around, it was actually due to airport cleaning meaning it couldn't land in Baghdad.Kareem al-Nuri, the transport minister's media adviser, said: 'There were cleaning operations in the airport and specific measures were taken.

We asked all flights not to land in Baghdad airport after 9 a.m. (0600 GMT) but this flight arrived after this time, so we asked it to turn back.'This information (about the minister's son) is not true and the minister is not accepting such behaviour. The minister's son was not scheduled to take that flight at all.'When smoke begins to fill a plane, it is understandable for passengers to fear the worst and start to panic. Last year an American Airlines flight bound for Miami had to return to Boston's Logan International Airport when the smell of burning filled the cabin. Thankfully the odour turned out to be nothing more than the smell of singed breadcrumbs in the oven. The offending oven was thoroughly cleaned and the flight departed again, two hours after the initial departure time. Cho Hyun-ah, (left), former vice president of Korean Air Lines Co., arrives at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office in Seoul, South Korea. A flight attendant who was harassed by Cho in what became known as the nut rage case filed a civil lawsuit against the airline and the executiveYou have to expect on a flight that the food is probably not going to be the best meal you've ever had.

One screaming passenger, however, caused a Incheon-bound flight to turn around in the air and return back to New York's JFK, over her disgust at nuts being served in a bag. Cho Hyun-ah, a senior vice-president at the airline, Korean Air, angrily demanded the removal of a crew member from a flight for failing to provide the macadamia nuts in a bowl, as was 'correct' procedure. She insisted the flight return in order to kick the junior flight attendant off the plane, but has since been sued for her bullying treatment. Moment to not shine! A passenger in 2013 caused a plane to change course halfway through the six hour flight and make an unscheduled stop at Kansas City so officers could escort a singing woman from the planeA loud passenger made her singing debut aboard a flight full of lucky flyers making the six-hour trip from Los Angeles to New York.Clearly enjoying the moment, she was reported to have sung Whitney Houston's I Will Love You at the top of her lungs. When it all became too much, the pilot changed the flight course halfway and made an unscheduled stop at Kansas City to remove the women mid performance.
