When I bought my Audi, it came with a set of Sumitomos that were close to the end of their life. I replaced those with Goodyear Eagle GTs, which were quiet, but the treadwear was atrocious, and they were terrible in the snow. And that was prior to doing any real modifications to my car (outside a Stage 1 tune). Then I had a set of Conti DWSs, which were extremely quiet and great in the wet, but ultimately very soft sidewalls and I could never get them to feel good around corners. Then I found the Nittos. When I purchased, they seemed relatively new, but it was highly recommended to me based on how much I drove, the way I drove, and how long this tire was to last. And that they have! I can drive fast in these (have done >120 mph), am fully confident in the pouring rain where I can I still cruise at 80 mph or better and other cars are lucky to do 55. Have run them during a few winters, and for an all-season tire, they do pretty well due to the extra silica. This is my 2nd set of the Motivos, and I have had them on until my car was totaled.
