UPDATE: Three arrested for drug selling on Tomah VA grounds in court wnRenderDate('Wednesday, July 22, 2015 1:03 PM EDT', '', false); wnRenderDate('Wednesday, August 5, 2015 1:03 PM EDT', '', false); The three people arrested in connection with the sale of illegal drugs on the Tomah VA Medical Center campus appeared in court Monday.The court dates for Alissa Hamley, 49 of Sparta and Bernard L. Jackson, 60, of Tomah were moved to a later date. Elijah Pates', 61, of Tomah, pre-trial is set for August 31st.  ?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Three people are arrested on drug charges after an investigation finds a Tomah VA employee selling drugs on the center grounds.In a statement from Tomah Police and Tomah VA Medical Center Police, the three arrested are Tomah VA employee Bernard L. Jackson, 60, of Tomah; Alisa Hamley, 49, of Sparta; and Elijah Pates, 61, of Tomah.Jackson and Hamley were arrested July 20, while Pates was arrested the following day.

The arrests came the same day the investigation began. Authorities from Tomah VA Medical Center Police and the Monroe County Joint Investigation Task Force started by arresting Jackson for selling illegal narcotics on the Tomah VA grounds. As the investigation moved forward, it was discovered that the drugs Jackson sold were provided by Hamley. She was then arrested.The next day, as the investigation proceeded, authorities arrested Pates after they found that he tried to sell medications to a veteran on the VA campus.All three are in the Monroe County Jail awaiting court hearings.
