The increased torque means less loss of speed on hills but also you notice the fact that you don't need to change down as much on mountain roads. When I tested this Toyota for the car magazines in 2004 my main gripe was that the long gear ratios were not suited to the short power band on the 2.5 D-4D... but your chip does what the manufacturers should have done by making the engine pull from lower in the rev range... on these vehicles that is a welcomed change to its original characteristics!
